Survivors include her husband, Jake; four children: Brente (Pam) Steinhorst, of Reedsburg; Traye (Dayna) Steinhorst, of Reedsburg; Korrie (Paula) Steinhorst, of Baraboo and Suzie (Tracy) Horkan, of Reedsburg; eight grandchildren: Hannah and Max Steinhorst; Jacob, Jessica and Allison Steinhorst; JoEtte, Kyran and Tarek Horkan; two step grandchildren: Alicia and Elizabeth; one step great granddaughter: Lexie; her sister: Jane (Robert) Bortz, of Beaver Dam; her sister-in-law: Marie Steinhorst, of Reedsburg; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother: John Parkhurst; her step grandson: Arnold; her brother-in-law: Gerald "Bud" Steinhorst and her sister-in-law: Rosalyn (Ed) Vig. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Jerome was born on August 12, 1948 the son of Jerome 'Hap' and Marcella (Parkhurst) Meurer. Joe Ann was born on March 4, 1949 the daughter of William and Catherine (Laubmeier) Popp. They were married on June 8, 1968 in St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain. Joe Ann and Jerry loved their family, Tina and Christopher, their spouses Ben Cone and Elizabeth Meurer, and their sweet grandson, Brody. They loved and found joy in caring for their pets Timber and Tina. They lived a full life, and were genuinely happy people, as was demonstrated by Joe Ann's robust laugh. Joe Ann touched many lives through her work at the Sauk Co. Health Care Center. In her free time she loved busying her hands with needlework. It was a rare occasion to find her without a piece in her hands, her fingers crafting perfect stitches. Jerry enjoyed his work at HoChunk, speaking of it often. At home he loved connecting on-line with people across the globe, and often spoke of his conversations with folks from across the globe. They were both preceded in death by their parents. They are survived by their children: Justina (Ben) Cone of Madison Christopher (Elizabeth) Meurer of Baraboo Grandson: Brody Jerry's Sister: Diane Smith of Lodi Joe Ann's Sisters: Della (Robert) Eberle of Plain Mary (Mike) Hanko of Lodi Elizabeth (Greg) Graf of Poynette Barbara (Kevin) Taylor of Dane Many nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Farber Funeral Home. On May 16, 1943, she married Joseph Bailey in Reedsburg, and they moved to La Crosse in 1947. Elsie was employed in housekeeping for Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse from 1970 until 1985. On Dec. 2, 2004, Joseph preceded Elsie in death. Survivors include one daughter, four sons, one daughter-in-law, 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; one stepgrandson; and five stepgreat-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Donald Earl Bailey; one sister; and three brothers. Funeral services will be Monday, April 21, at 11 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, Eighth and King streets, La Crosse. The Rev. Don Iliff will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, La Valle, Wis. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. She was born May 20, 1917 in Sauk County, the daughter of Henry and Rose (Ziech) Schrank. She married Walter Pelton in 1942. On July 11, 1956, she was united in marriage to Harvey Brooks. Elderene would walk from home to her country school and later to St. Peter’s Lutheran School as a child; and going to church on Sunday morning meant a trip with the use of horse and buggy or by sleigh in the winter. She was known by others for her smile and laugh, her huge gardens along with her enjoyment of being a serious card player, either Euchre, 500 or Sheeps Head. She loved her children and would do devotions with them every morning and evening throughout their years growing up. She was also the Treasurer for Willow Heights for over 23 years and was recognized for her time she provided doing that work. She is survived by her children; Gerald (Georgia) Pelton of Shoreview, Minnesota, and Gloria (David) Eaton of Grafton, Wisconsin, grandchildren; Nicholas Wolfgram, Christi Lawrence, and Michael Pelton, great-grandchildren; Brant, Darby and Graham, step-great-grandchildren; David and Kaylin, a brother Arnold (Dorothy) Schrank of Reedsburg, brothers-in-law; James (Ardel) Pelton, Lee (Beverly) Pelton, sisters-in-law, Vera Pelton, Esther (Lewis) Massey, along with many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Rose Schrank ; husband Harvey, and brother Gilbert (Loretta) Schrank, brothers and sisters –in-law Montross (Ginny) Pelton, Darrel (Marion) Higgins, Keith Pelton, Katherine Pelton; nieces, Nan Pelton, Deanna Imhoff, and Sharon Higgins. Elderene was a faithful member of Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was active in Ladies Aid, Bible Study, Golden Agers, and Women’s’ Missionary League. Early in her life, Elderene worked at the Huntley Hotel in Reedsburg. She was a devoted farm wife and mother. In 1962, Elderene worked at Jimmies Del Bar in Wisconsin Dells. Elderene and Harvey moved to Reedsburg in 1964, where for the next 20 years she was employed as a cook at the Reedsburg Hospital; retiring in 1984. Elderene was known for her cooking great meals and her baking skills, especially her many pies .which were appreciated by all who knew her. Funeral services for Elderene will be Thursday, January 8, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday at Farber Funeral Home from 5-7 P.M. and again on Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow services at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg. In Lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials be given to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour. |

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army-Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. On September 20, 1958, he was married to the former Dorothy L. Fish. Arnie worked for Held Construction for six years and later for Friede Brothers Construction Company for twenty-nine years. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and served on several boards. Survivors include two sons: Todd (Penny) Schrank, of Reedsburg and Gary Schrank, of Reedsburg; two grandsons: Joshua (Jessica) Fleming, of Reedsburg and Cody Schrank, of Arkansas; three great-grandchildren: Trinidy Fleming, Lileyanne Fleming and Oliver Schrank; his friends at Maple Ridge; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, on February 27, 2020; one sister: Elderene (Harvey) Brooks; one great-grandson: Gunner Fleming in 2017; one brother: Gilbert Schrank; four sisters-in-law: Dorothy Schrank, Loretta Schrank, Irene (Bill) Alexander and Ruth Lake as well as one brother-in-law: Donald (Marjorie) Fish. A private family graveside service will be held in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. |

Steckelberg and Anna Schuette, on 22 November 1920 at Sauk, Wisconsin, A very pretty wedding took place at the Lutheran Stone church in the town of Westfield at 2:00 o'clock Thanksgiving afternoon when Miss Elva Steckleberg daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hy. Steckleberg, Jr; and Herman Schrank, son of Mrs. Ferdinand Schrank, were united in marriage by Rev. Schreiber, the wedding march, being played by Miss Lydia Schrieber, The couple was attended by the Misses Valera Riggert, Gena Schuette and Martha Schrank the two former being cousins of the bride and the latter a sister of the groom. The groom's attendants were Albert Schrank his brother, Herbert Stekleberg and Harvey Licht, brother and cousin of the bride. Little Evelyn Stekleberg the bride's sister carried the rings in a basket of flowers. She wore light blue. The brides dress was of white satin with overdrapes of Georgette crepe and trimmed with mo ther of pearl. She also wore a beautiful veil and carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses and sweet peas. The bridesmaids were dresses in white, after the ceremony the couple and attendants autoed to Reedsburg to have pictures taken and then repaired to the home of the bride's parents south of Loganville where a reception was given them and a most beautiful five o'clock dinner served to about 75 guests. The happy couple received many beautiful presents of silver, china, furniture etc. The evening was most enjoyably spent in dancing and music.
