Mike was a good father and brother and was loved by many. He had many friends, was a man of God, and loved to talk with people. Mike enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, bowling, cutting wood and playing cards, especially Sheepshead. He was a Corvette enthusiast. She was under the compassionate care of Hospice Austin, enduring a courageous battle with cancer. Lonna was born on Dec. 5, 1931 to her parents Edward and Theresa (Repka) Meyer at their home in North Freedom, WI. Lonna most recently worked at Land’s End. Previously she retired from Wisconsin Dairies after 20 yrs. with the company. After retirement she enjoyed staying at her home in Reedsburg and spending time with her many family members and friends in the surrounding area. Lonna liked to escape the Wisconsin winters and enjoyed staying the winter months with her daughter Brenda and family for the last 15 yrs. in Phoenix, AZ and Austin, TX. Lonna was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a caring person who made everyone feel special. She was a very hard worker, she always stayed busy with gardening, crafts, cooking and decorating. She had a gentle spirit with animals; she had a pet chicken and pet pig growing up and other beloved pets through the years. She enjoyed dancing as a young girl and all through her life. She had an eye for beauty and could find a piece of wood and transform it into a unique piece of art and craftsmanship. She loved to make people laugh and was a lot of fun. She is predeceased by granddaughter Alesondra Norwalk, sister Gloria (Bud)Ripley, sister Margery Wiggen and brother in law Bob Wiggen, an infant sister, and her parents, Edward and Theresa Meyer. John farmed for over 20 years in Ironton Township where he also served as assessor. After moving to Reedsburg, he worked for more than 30 years in carpentry and woodworking. He was a dedicated member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. John was well known for his butchering and sausage making skills. His joys were his wife, his family, his many friends, his love of baseball and card playing. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorraine; his children, John (Debbie) Muchow of Reedsburg, Wayne (Linda) Muchow of Ashwaubenon; grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob and James Muchow, and Ryan and Marissa Muchow; brother, Harold (Eleanor) Muchow of Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania; sisters, Verna (Gerhardt) Brandt and Arlene (Donald) Westphal of Hillpoint. John is also survived by a large family of nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gerhardt, Hugo, Arnold and Clarence. She was born on March 28, 1922 in Rock Springs, Wisconsin the daughter of William and Lydia (Martin) Gall. She was married to John Lucas Muchow on May 10, 1944 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rock Springs. This marriage was blessed with two sons. She farmed with her husband for 20 years in Ironton Township. She was active in the neighborhood homemakers club and the St. Peter's Ladies Aid. After leaving the farm, she was employed by the Reedsburg Cleaners and as a housecleaner. During this time she made many friends through her owrk. Lorraine will be remembered as a friendly, outgoing lady. She was known for her cooking, especially her cheesecake. She made excellent pies and often remarked, she did not know what a pie was until after she married. She was especially proud of the time she spent as a young lady working in Chicago at the Edgewater. She was devoted to her family. Lorraine was especially close to her nieces and nephews and would gladly help them whether it was babysitting, sewing or anything else she could do for them. She is survived by her sons, John (Debbie) Muchow of Reedsburg, Wayne (Linda) Muchow of Ashwaubenon; grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob and James Muchow, Ryan and Marissa Muchow; brother, Harold (Jean) Gall of Lyndon Station; sister, Mary Ann (Paul) Sekaney of Antigo; brothers and sister-in-law, Harold and Eleanor Muchow, Verna and Gerhardt Brandt and Arlene and Donald Westphal; also by a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her staff family the the Sauk County Health Care Center whom the family is especially appreciative to for the wonderful and loving care given to her. John D. Muchow died on 16 January 2016 at age 70 John D. Muchow, 70, Reedsburg, died at home January 16, 2016, surrounded by his family after a six-year battle with multiple myeloma.

John was born June 25, 1945, the older of two sons of John and Lorraine (nee Gall) Muchow. His formative years were spent on a farm in the town of Ironton. John married the love of his life, Debra J. Schwartz, on March 6, 1976, and they had three sons: Nathan, Jacob and James.

John was a positive person who made his country, his community and his family better. He viewed the world with broad perspective, seeing answers and angles others never considered. He was not intimidated by challenges and always thought big. His motto was to “deal in solutions and not problems.”

John attended St. Peter’s Lutheran School and Webb High School. He graduated from Stout State University in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology. He later did graduate work in secondary school administration through the University of Southern California.

John entered the U.S. Army in July 1967. After initial training, he was posted to the 7th Infantry Division in South Korea during the Pueblo incident. He attended engineer officer candidate school at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and was commissioned as a second lieutenant before being posted to Fort Huachuca, Arizona, Mohawk School. John completed helicopter flight school in Fort Wolters, Texas, and Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia.

John spent all of 1970 in Vietnam with the 195th Aviation Company flying insertion and extraction missions. After Vietnam, John was assigned to the Rhineland Falls Engineer District in Europe. He maintained his flight status through the 32nd Army Air Defense Command.

John joined the Wisconsin National Guard in 1976 and in the ensuing years served in many leadership and command positions. He completed U.S. Army War College in 1997 and retired at the rank of colonel after 31 years of military service.

As owner of Muchow Builders for more than 35 years, John designed, built and remodeled many homes and light commercial properties. His first design-and-build project was Reedsburg Cleaners. Muchow Builders transformed the former Huntley Hotel in Reedsburg into Cornerstone, a residential and retail mixed-use project that helped revive downtown Reedsburg. He also designed and built his family’s home in the Frank Lloyd Wright style. After retirement, John continued to follow his passion for creativity by completing several unique and ambitious woodworking projects despite the challenges of his illness.

John was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; the VFW; the U.S. Army War College Foundation and a past member of Reedsburg Jaycees. He served as a board member of the Reedsburg Area Medical Center, Seth Peterson Cottage Foundation, and Reedsburg School Board, serving seven years as board president.

John is survived by his wife, Debra Muchow of Reedsburg; sons: Nathan (Kristin Maenner) of Chicago; Jacob and wife Lisa, of Westfield, NJ; James (Molly Gilmore) of Milwaukee; grandchildren Joshua and Sophie; brother, Wayne Muchow (Linda) of Green Bay; brothers- and sisters-in-law Jean Schwartz of Reedsburg, Sue and Craig Schappe of Madison; Sid and Julie Schwartz of Beloit; three nieces and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother- and father-in-law Jane and Gordon Schwartz, sister-in-law Virginia (Schwartz) Zinn, and infant grandson, Dylan Muchow.

The family thanks Dr. Natalie Callander and the staff at Carbone Cancer Center as well as the staff at the Baraboo Dialysis Clinic for their compassionate care.

Funeral services for John D. Muchow will be conducted at 11:30 AM Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg with Father David Carrano officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, and on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Carbone Cancer Center or the Reedsburg Educational foundation.

She was born on July 24, 1926, in Sauk County at the family farm, the daughter of Simon and Lily (Schilling) Muchow. She was married to Gerhardt Brandt at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Hillpoint, on June 5, 1946. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, having taught Sunday School, was a member of the Ladies’ Aid, was a janitor at St. Paul, and served as a representative for the Lutheran Layman’s League for many years. Verna was also a very giving person.

She had a passion for quilting, playing cards with her Card Club, and watching baseball, basketball, and football. Her favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Bucks, WI Badgers and Green Bay Packers. She looked forward to exercising and visiting at RAMC rehab.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gerhart, Hugo, Arnold, Clarence, John, and Harold; sister, Arlene Westphal, and infant grandson Bret Brandt.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gerhardt Brandt of Hillpoint.

He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he and Verna served as janitor for 30 years, also mowing lawn for the church and cemeteries. He was a school bus driver for Claude Box and then the Weston School District for over 20 years.

Gerhardt enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, Spring Training in Arizona, also on his new TV, and was especially excited when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016 for the first time in 108 years. While at the Sauk County Health Care Center, he touched the lives of the residents and staff with his humor and strong-willed ways.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Brandt, on July 31, 2016, parents, infant sister, infant brother, and infant grandson Bret Brandt.

He is survived by his children, Betty (Don) Davis of Reedsburg, Merlin (Cindy Spencer) of Hillpoint, Leana (Dave) Crary of Richland Center, Lori Dee of La Valle; 12 grandchildren, Bradley (Angi Fry) Brandt, Meadow (Scott) Mears, Spencer (Nikki) Davis, Adam (April) Brandt, Nicole Brandt, Daniel (Brandi) Brandt, Max (Amanda) Brandt, Sam (Brittany Acker) Brandt, Amy Crary, Jeremy Crary, Manda (Bruce) Hansen, Taylor Dee (Colleen Smith); 27 great-grandchildren, Dawson, Autumn, Alexis, Nick, Jaden, Dylan, Davis, Andi, Kaleb, Kadee, Emery, Reegan, Trenna, Gracy, Ally, Robby, Kendall, expecting new great-grandson in November, Hailey, Braydon, Avery, Addison, Libby, Trenton, Landen, Deegan, Ava, Fallyn; two great-great-grandsons Bentley and Peyton; brother, Melvin Brandt of Baraboo; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends, including special friends, Bill, Eugene, and Russ and Ivy Hoege.

Funeral services for Gerhardt will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hillpoint. Reverend Tim Anderson, pastor, officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg and again from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the church. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, rural Hillpoint.
The family requests memorials of remembrance be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour; in lieu of flowers.

She was born on April 14, 1931 in Reedsburg Township, Sauk Co. Wisconsin the daughter of Simon and Lillie (Schilling) Muchow. She was married to Donald Westphal at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, rural Hillpoint on May 31, 1952. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, having taught Sunday school and being part of the ladies aid for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a thoughtful person, placing others needs and cares before her own. She was a kid at heart having fun on roller coasters, playing cards and bowling. Her fanatical passion for sports was evident by what was on TV; Brewers, Cardinals and football. Arlene was always encouraging and enjoyed trying new things. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Gerhardt, Hugo, Arnold, Clarence, John and Harold.
