She was born on October 29, 1922 to William and Margaret (Bauer) Honer on a farm near Ithaca, WI, the fourth of ten children. On May 24, 1944, she married Vincent Martin Kraemer. They had ten children and were married 58 years until Vince’s death in 2002. Her interests included playing euchre, bowling, golfing, successful sweepstaking, bingo and doing crosswords. Lucille is survived by her loving children, Marge (Patrick) Cloherty of Millbrae, CA, Donny (JoEllen) of Spring Green, Evonne Kraemer of Green Bay, Chuck “Charlie” (Debbie) of Sauk City, Gary (Marcia) of Plain, Terri (Al) Larson of Reedsburg, Cathie (Scott) Truehl of Stoughton, Mark (Cathy) of Madison, she was a proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, a sister, Katherine (Charles) Teach of Phoenix, AZ, 2 brothers, John (Audrey) Honer of Ithaca, Bill (Alice) Honer of Richland Center, a sister-in-law, Ardie Honer of Raleigh, NC, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Paul William “Vince” Kraemer, an infant daughter, Elizabeth, 3 brothers, Clem (Helen), Ray (Ann) and Harry Honer, 3 sisters, Margaret (Tom) Neary, Virginia Richardson and Anna (Frank) Michel. She will be especially missed by her family and friends, and will always be remembered for her unconditional love and selfless concern for others. She was devoutly true to God and her faith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Plain. Fr. Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. and again on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of Mass. A special thank you to the Home Health United Hospice for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Endowment Fund or Home Health United Hospice. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green is assisting the family with the arrangements.

She was born on October 20, 1925, in Ithaca, WI, the daughter of William and Margaret C. (Bauer) Honer. On October 17, 1950, Margaret was united in marriage to Thomas F. Neary in Keyesville, WI. This marriage was blessed with seven children. Thomas preceded her in death on August 3, 1993.

Margaret grew up and lived on a farm most of her life. She was an avid gardener who grew much of the food her family enjoyed. She was a great cook and baker and is remembered for her wonderful bread, donuts, and dill pickles. God was ever present in Margaret’s life. She was a devout Catholic and was active in the prayer line of Sacred Hearth Church in Reedsburg. She participated in the Perpetual Adoration in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Union Center. From 1994 until 1999, Margaret volunteered in the library of Sacred Heart School, a job she truly loved. Margaret enjoyed various crafts and excelled in her quilting abilities. She made quilts for all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She donated quilts to Helping Hands and to various fundraisers in the area. Margaret’s greatest joy was raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren and their families.

Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Joel Neary; brothers, Clem (Helen) Honer, Harold Honer, and Raymond (Ann) Honer; sisters, Anne (Frank) Michel, and Virginia Richardson; brother-in-law, Vince Kraemer.

She is survived by her children and their spouses,

Helen (Donovan) Frank of Reedsburg,

Anne (Larry) Meyer of Hillpoint,

Rita (Tim) Koch of Cazenovia,

36 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren.

Sisters, Catherine (Charles) Teach of Phoeniz, AZ,

Lucille Kraemer of Plain;

Sister-in-law, Ardith Honer of Raleigh, NC;

Numerous nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret E. Neary will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church, LaValle, with Father Lorin Bowens officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, rural Cazenvoia. Visitation will be conducted on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, where the Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 PM. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

The Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
