He was born on April 22, 1944, in Reedsburg, the son of Alphonse and Florence (Liegel) Alt. Bob graduated from St. Luke's High School and served in the Air National Guard. He married Carol Dederich on Feb. 24, 1968, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Loretto. Bob was an accountant for many small businesses, most recently working at ADS Mechanical. He was an active member of St. Dennis Catholic Church.
Bob was a cancer and transplant survivor whose deep spiritual faith and positive outlook inspired and gave hope to everyone he touched. He included exclamations such as "life is good" and "embrace the opportunity" in every conversation, and with a bright smile on his face. Bob's authentic optimism made every person he met feel special and loved. He was also an avid gardener and canner and was known for his pickles, salsa, and sauerkraut, which he shared with all.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carol of Madison; daughter, Tina (Kurt) Gregus of Naperville, Ill; three granddaughters, Natalie, Olivia, and Sophia; father, Alphonse of Spring Green; four sisters, Edith (Richard) Hochstetter, Joanne (John) Acomb, Alice (Dave) Dischler, and Margie (Jim) Ries; two brothers, George (Jeanne) Alt, and Allan (Sue) Alt; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence; sister, Mary Conway; and an infant sister, Katherine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. LUKE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1240 Nachreiner Ave., Plain, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, with Father Michael Resop presiding. Burial will be held at St. Luke's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at St. Luke's.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the UW Carbone Cancer Center. Bob will be greatly missed, but his love, energetic spirit, smile and template for kind heartedness will be with us forever.

Mr. Luetkens died April 28. He attained the age of 62 years, 4 months and 29 days. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home with Rev. G Myer officiating.

Those who acted as pallbearers were August Thies, Albert Gade, Henry Thies, Herman Gall, Alfred Grottmeyer, Edward Roever. Burial was made in the Winters cemetery.

He is survived and mourned by his widow and four children, Violet and Gerhard at home, Norma, Mrs. Oscar Reinecke of Ableman; Clara, Mrs. Martin Baumgarten of North Freedom; also three granchildren, Lois, Lyle and Charlene Baumgarten; two brothers, F.C. Luetkens and John Luetkens.

Norma is survived by two sons, Fred (LaVonne) Reinecke, Rock Springs, and Jerome (Kathy) Reinecke, Eau Claire; seven grandchildren, Doug (Amy) Reinecke, Jenny (Bob) Liegel, Penny (Doug) Wieczorek, Marcus Reinecke (finacee Jodi Shaver), Peggy, Betsy and Trish Reinecke; three great-grandchildren, Allison, Spencer and Hannah; two sisters, Clara Baumgarten, North Freedom, and Violet Vinz, Reedsburg; a brother, Gerhard "Barney" (Elda) Luetkens, Loganville; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar in February of 1985 and a sister, Louise Luetkens. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 14, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter's Restoration Fund would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

Death31 August 2020Violet Selma Luetkens died on 31 August 2020 at Sauk, Wisconsin, at age 97 Violet Selma (Luetkens) Vinz, of Reedsburg, age 97 years, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 at the Sauk County Health Care Center. She was born on August 26, 1923 at the family farm house south of Loganville, Township of Westfield, Sauk County. She was the daughter of August and Emma (Koenig) Luetkens. Violet was baptized on September 23, 1923 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Loganville by Pastor Steckhart. She attended church school there and also Prairie View School. On April 10, 1938, she was confirmed by Pastor G. Meyer and on August 1, 1974 was married to Cecil Vinz, by Pastor John Pingel, all at St John Lutheran Church in Loganville. Violet worked at various jobs over the years, but was mainly known as a caregiver, having worked at the old Reedsburg Memorial Hospital, Snyder Nursing Home and for private individuals in their homes for over 33 years. She was also instrumental in starting and organizing the Luetkens and Koenig family reunions, which we continue to this date! She has remained a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Loganville all these years. She enjoyed her role as a greeter at her church services and tied many quilts for the church mission projects.

Survivors include her nephews: Fred (LaVonne) Reinecke, Rock Springs; Jerome (Kathy) Reinecke, Eau Claire; Dennis (Jean) Leutkens, Reedsburg; Pastor Richard Lauersdorf, Jackson; and nieces: Betty (Dennis) Adcock, Rockford, IL; and Carol Baumgarten, North Freedom; along with numerous great-nephews, great-nieces, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cecil Vinz, in 1982; her sisters: Clara (Martin) Baumgarten, Norma (Oscar) Reinecke and Louise Luetkens, and brother Gerhard “Barney” (Elda) Luetkens; nephews and nieces; Lois (Richard) Strobel; Lyle (Lorna) Baumgarten; Charlene Lauersdorf and David Baumgarten.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at St. John Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 12 noon until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Loganville, or St. John Cemetery Fund. Violet’s family wishes to thank the staff of the SCHCC for their caring and kindness during her stay with them.
