Audrey was born in Lime Ridge on January 20, 1915. She was married to Harold Gasser on June 15, 1936. They lived on a farm in Lime Ridge until moving to Reedsburg in 1963. Audrey graduated from Lime Ridge High School and the Sauk County Teachers College. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Platteville University and a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She taught in area schools for 36 years, the last 26 years in the Reedsburg School District. She retired as principal of South School in 1982 and later volunteered at Sacred Heart School for several years. Audrey enjoyed fishing, reading, crocheting and visiting family and friends. Survivors include her son: Paul (Janet) Gasser, of Janesville; her daughter: Mary (David) Boyles, of Wisconsin Rapids; five grandchildren: Kristin Gasser, Steve (Katrina) Gasser, Angela (John) Tolfa, Tom (Sheila) Boyles and Theresa Cashman; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her sister-in-law: Darlene (Don) Nelson, of Glenwood City; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1978; her parents; three brothers: Amos, in World War II, Don and Roland Nelson; her sister: Bernadene (Ken) Courtier; sisters-in-law: Helen Nelson and Agnes (Maynard) Brandt and two brothers-in-law: Cyril and George Gasser. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at Ironton. There will be a visitation after 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or School would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

Funeral services will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 1992. The Rev. James A. Pingel will officiate. Burial will be in the Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 1992 at the funeral home.

Eleanor was born on February 17, 1921 in Ravinia, South Dakota to Amiel T. and Ethyl (Corrigan) Uecker. She attended school in Charles Mix County and graduated from Ravinia High School in 1939. Her family moved to Clay County in 1941 and settled near Beresford, SD. It was near there that she met her future husband. Eleanor married Merle Offerdahl at the Roseni Parsonage on November 1, 1941. Two children were born from this Union: Robert M. Offerdahl and Joyce A. Zimmer.
Eleanor attended Springfield Normal Teacher"s College for one year to earn her teaching certificate thus began a career that would span 41 years. She taught in country schools in Clay and Union Counties for 17 years. She then went back to school to earn a certificate to teach Special Education. She taught Special Education in Vermillion School District for 17 years. She finished her career by teaching second grade for seven years. Eleanor led a very active and involved life. She loved to dance, play cards and dominoes, travel, read, camp, eat out, do craft work and spend time with her family and friends. She and Merle traveled to every state in the union, camped in much of Canada and made two trips to Europe. Along with that, she was very active in many local and state organizations, including: Alpha Lambda Chapter of ESA (49 year member), Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Teachers Association, SDEA/NEA Life member, the Senior Citizen"s Center, Hospital Auxiliary, W.H. Over Museum, Clay County Historical Society, Trinity Lutheran Church, Good Sam Club Life member, Merry Homemaker"s Extension Club, and the Dinner Belles Red Hat Club.
During her high school years Eleanor was active in sports and other school activities. She remained an avid sports fan her entire life and loved pointing out all the errors the referees made. She especially loved following the Coyotes, the Vikings and the Twins. Eleanor will be remembered for her spunk, her "get it done" attitude, her smile and laugh, and her enormous generosity to those she knew and loved and to causes she believed in. Those mourning her passing are her husband Merle, her son, Bob (Fran) Offerdahl of Youngstown, Ohio; her daughter, Joyce (Dave) Zimmer of Vermillion, SD: her sister, Lorraine Koehler of Desert Hot Springs, CA; her brother, Leonard Uecker of Beresford, SD; 5 grandchildren: Scott (Maria) Zimmer, Nathan (Jami) Offerdahl, Lucas (Sarah) Offerdahl, Martha Offerdahl, and Ellen (Jon) Duby; 9 great grandchildren; numerous friends and other family members. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice Program at the Vermillion Sanford Hospital, the Vermillion Food Pantry, the Senior Citizen"s Center, or to any other worthy organization. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 pm, on Sunday, July 4, 2010 with a prayer service/video tribute at 7 p.m., at the Iverson-Siecke-Kober Funeral Home in Vermillion. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion with Rev. Ralph Egbert officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Bluff View Cemetery in Vermillion at a later date.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 8:00 p.m. at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with the family present from 6:00 8:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Adell Beatrice Offerdahl was born July 2, 1925 in Union County, SD to parents Lars and Alma (Anderson) Hanson. She died October 5, 2006 in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 81 years, three months and three days.

Adell was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Brule Creek Lutheran Church. She married Milton Offerdahl on June 30, 1943. They farmed in the Beresford community; Adell was a homemaker, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her door was always open, whether at her apartment or at Bethesda, and she enjoyed all her many friends. She loved to watch the Minnesota Twins.

Preceding her in death was her husband, parents and two brothers, Darrell and Rodney.

Adell is survived by her two daughters, Marlys (Duane) Clay of Beresford and Carol (Chuck) Garvin of LeMars, IA; six grandchildren, Stacey (Randy) Namminga, Stephanie (Ryan) James, Lindsay Clay, Ryan Clay, Jill Garvin and Amy Garvin; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Palmer (Ruth) Hanson of Cherokee, IA, Kenneth (Phyllis) Hanson of Maynard, AR and Robert (Shirley) Hanson of Alcester; and two sisters, Lois Jensen of Cambridge, MN and Evelyn Solberg of Alcester.
