He was a member of the Kankakee Farm Bureau Board for 2 years, and Kankakee H.I.A. Board sponsor for Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 30 years.
Mr HELDT died Wednesday, April 3, 2002.
He was born 19 March, 1909 in Washington Township, Beecher, the sone of Charles and Pauline KLEMME HELDT. His wife, the former Maxine HAMANN, whom he married 25 Nov 1933, at the parsonage at St Peters United Church of Christ, died 10 March 1994.
Surviving are 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Byron and Cheryl HELDT of Kankakee, Norman and Irene HELDT of Grant Park; one daughter and son-in-law Karen and Dennis SEITZ of Beecher; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Four brothers and one sister are deceased.
He was financial secretary for St Peters United Church of Christ for six years and rang the church bell for 27 years.

Deceased are one son, Richard; a granddaughter; brothers, Emery, Charles and Frank Heldt; and one sister, Della Kurth. He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dyer.

Born November 13, 1910 in Pine City, MN, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Bogenschutz) Blass, Rose was raised in Boscobel, WI, and graduated from high school there. She later attended cosmetology school in Iron Mountain, receiving her license. She moved to Marquette in the mid 1930’s to assist her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Fritz Zweifel, in the operation of their two Piggly Wiggly Grocery Stores, which were located on Washington Street and on Third Street. In her leisure moments, Rose loved working in her garden, growing and arranging flowers. She enjoyed the beauty of her yard. She also was involved in arts and crafts, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and especially spending time with her family at camp.

Rose was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

A loving sister and aunt, Rose is survived by her sister, Antoinette Goad of Marquette; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Yshinski in 1984; and by sisters, Ann E. Kaney, Mary Bushausen, Margaret Blass, and Helen Zweifel; and brothers, Armin G, John F, and Johnny Blass; and brothers-in-law, Dale Goad, John Kaney, Frank Bushausen, and Fritz Zweifel.

Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Thursday, June 9, beginning at 5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 7:00 pm Thursday evening with Rev. Msgr. Jed Patrick, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Goad and together the couple established their first home in Richland Center, Wis. In 1950, Sis, Dale, and children, Mary Joanne, Richard, and Jacqueline, moved to Marquette where Sis assisted her sister and brother-in-law in the operation of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Stores. Coming from a large family, Sis enjoyed her role as wife and mom, especially treasuring the time spent with family even more as grandchildren began to be added to the family tree. She liked to travel and visit with her many brothers and sisters at the various family camps. Sis always enjoyed a good game of cards with family or with her card club friends. She was a former member of St. Peter Cathedral and currently a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. A loving mother and proud grandmother, Sis is survived by her children, Mary Joanne (Ron) Bauer of Lake Delton, Wis., Richard (Mary) Goad of Big Bay, and Jacqueline (Blayne) Andresen of Marquette; her grandchildren, Brad (Stacey) Andresen, Chad (Kathy) Andresen, Lisa (Jason) Bloxsom, Michelle (Tom) Wagner, Laurel (Dave) Leonard, and Lon (Sue) Bauer; great- grandchildren, Alexis, Evan, Amanda, Carter, Jaden, Addison, Mardi, Bronson, Kaliista, and Cooper; and many nieces and nephews.
