Joseph Henry officiating at the requiem Mass. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. A son of the late William and Catherine Muller Mechler, he was born in Tennyson on April 23, 1870. He was married to Sarah Helbing who preceded him in death in June, 1952.

The Mechlers marked their golden wedding in November, 1944. Survivors include two sons, John Mechler of Cuba City and Henry Mechler of Potosi; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Helen) Hinderman of Cuba City and Mrs. William (Valeria) Salwolke of Galena, two brothers, George of Pawnee, and Joseph of Oklahoma City; and 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Anna Pluemer and Mrs. Catherine Siepker, both natives of Tennyson, have died within the past several months.
