She was born on November 1, 1920 in Sauk County, WI, the daughter of the late Arthur F. and Josephine W. (Ziech) Maske. On May 17, 1952 she was united in marriage to Harold A. Luetkens at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1972. Shortly after their marriage, she was struck with Polio and in an iron lung for six months. She was told that she would never walk again. But, she refused to believe that, and in time she was walking with assistance, and was able to drive and travel around the world.
She was a very active member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg and involved in the Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women’s League, and Study Club, as well as holding several district offices. Erma was also involved in various civic organizations such as the United Fund and Sauk County Republican Women’s Organization.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Louis, Harvey and Arthur, a niece Karla Sowell, nephew Blaine Rabuck, and a great-nephew David Rabuck.
Erma is survived by her nieces and nephews; Deanna L. Rabuck of Sparta, WI Gary (Barbara) Maske of Beloit, WI, Christine (Carl) Squires of Wyeville, WI, Sandra Stodola of Lake Villa, Illinois, Richard (Linda) Maske of DeForest, Kathleen (Gary) Posorske of Cambridge, WI, Tracy Sowell of San Jose, CA, Louis (Heidi) Maske of Seaside, California and Jeffrey Maske of Santa Clara, CA.
Great nieces and nephews: Beth (David) Sandmire, Kim (Scott) Warnke, Angela (James) Slagle, Brian (Nel) Stodola, Julie (Carey) Pettis, Scott Squires, Jesse Rabuck, Zachary Sandmire, Diana (Dan) Erdman, Debra (Michael) Maske-Hornbostel, and Denise (Mike) Rossing.
Along with numerous other great-great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Erma Luetkens will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 24, 2017 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with the Reverend Paul Crolius, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Peter Lutheran Church.
The Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

His health had been good for a man of his years until about 3 months ago when he became unable to get around much. He made his home with his only child, Mrs. Ernest Wolter, his wife having died about 2 years ago. Mr. Darger was born in Barum, Province of Hanover, Germany, August 31, 1822 and died in the town of Reedsburg October 25, 1903, making him 81 years, 1 month and 24 days old. He came to Reedsburg from Germany in 1862, being among the first settlers here. After spending about 2 years in "town" he moved onto the farm where he lived until the time of his death. He leaves 2 sisters, Mrs. Sorge of Duluth and Mrs. Huebing of Chicago and the daughter and son-in-law with whom he lived, to mourn his death. The funeral was held at St. Peters Church on Tuesday afternoon.
