Franke in Mauston; he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 2000. Orphy was a farmers wife, taking care of the home, helping with the land and raising their children. She was a longtime member of Walnut Hill Bible Church and enjoyed attending church services and activities. Orphy will be remembered by her family for always helping others.

Survivors include her children, Louann (Scott) Jones and Gerald E. (Annette) Franke; one step-grandchild, and her sister, Virginia Daniels as well as other relatives and friends including her four legged grand-kitty, Tiki.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; her brothers, Melvin and Arley Ziech; and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Daniels.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 at Walnut Hill Bible Church. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Death9 June 1953Arthur William Friede died on 9 June 1953 at age 48 Arthur W. Friede, route 2, died at his home today following a lingering illness. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Friede and was born Feb. 5, 1905. He had lived in the Watertown community since 1928. Surviving are four daughters, La Verne, route 2; Mrs. John Lonsdale, Fort Atkinson; Mrs. Henry Buerger, Jefferson; Mrs. John Dvorscheck, Chicago; a son, Marvin, Jefferson; his mother, now Mrs. Anna Knudtson, Madison; four grandchildren; a brother, August, Madison; and two sisters, Miss Margaretta Friede, Milwaukee; and Mrs. William Werner, Valparaiso, Ind. Mr. Friede was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. The funeral will take place Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral home, the Rev. Gerhard Redlin officiating. Interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and also the day of the funeral.

He was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church, a Life Member of the Englewood Elks Lodge, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge and he was a volunteer Fireman in Englewood years ago. He was a School Bus driver for Charlotte County for 14 years and worked for Culligan Water for 28 years. He loved his cat Oliver and all animals. He was an avid blood donor for many years and he loved to walk and visit friends. He married his wife Betty on August 29, 1948, she predeceased him in 2014, and also by his parents and four sisters, Loretta, Darlene, Dorothy and Laverne. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Newberry of Englewood, his son Gerry (Luann) Friede of Middleburg, Florida; grandchildren, Teata Bonfiglio, Eben Barnes and Billy Newberry; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Zach, Dylan and Emma. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until noon with funeral services to follow at Lemon Bay Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lemon Bay Cemetery.
