She married Eldon Maginnis on April 6, 1946, in Baraboo. Arnita was a devoted wife and mother. She was a loyal member of the Women of the Moose, Eastmorland Association and Madison Elk's Lodge No. 410, and was always there when contributions of time or money were needed. Arnita and Eldon were very involved with the Boys Scouts, along with their three sons. They followed the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps around, in addition to many other activities their sons were involved in. Arnita is survived by three sons, Jim (Bettie) Maginnis of Mazomanie, John Maginnis of Roscoe, Ill., and Tom (Farrell) Maginnis of Mazomanie; three grandsons, Patrick (Sara) Maginnis of Wausau, and Michael and Adam Maginnis, both of Roscoe, Ill; three great-grandchildren, Carmen, William and A.J., all of Wausau; sisters, LaDeane (Elmer) Christianson of Madison, Janet Voiles of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Caroline (Ray) Siebertz of Baraboo; a brother-in-law, Tom Egan; and also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at noon on Friday, Feb. 18, 2005. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005.

In addition to his mother, Daniel is survived by his son, Daniel (Angie); grandchildren, Rachel and Emily; brothers and sisters, David (Jane) Parsons, Dennis (Mary) Parsons, Scarlett (Robert) Parker; Bonnie (the late Thomas Conway) Parsons, Jane (Jim) Charmelo and Timothy Bruer; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; special partner, Lisa Dellanay; and his close friend, Roger Tesch. He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Hazel Bruer; maternal grandparents, David and Elva Loomis; and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 3 p.m., on Thursday, May 4, 2006. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Merrimac. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. She was born on Nov. 11, 1915, to Frederick L. and Mary A. (Adams) Meudt at the family farm in the community of Pleasant Ridge. After graduating from Dodgeville High School, she attended Platteville Teachers College and taught at several rural schools. She married Bill Michels on Oct. 6, 1945, and they made their home on the Michels family farm near Spring Green. They farmed the land together and Eleanore specialized in raising chickens and selling their eggs. She enjoyed delivering fresh eggs to her customers and visiting with them weekly. She also served as town clerk for Wyoming Township and bailiff for the Iowa County Circuit Court. Her hobbies included playing cards, collecting a variety of items, gardening and doing crafts. She especially enjoyed sharing the lives of her nieces and nephews and supporting them in their various activities and sports, and was a very special aunt. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Spring Green and served as a religious education teacher and liturgical minister. Eleanore was a member of the first Diocesan Pastoral Council (Madison). She was also a member of Pleasant Ridge SS. Peter & Paul Preservation Inc., and enjoyed providing the fish pond for the children at the annual Mass and picnic. She is survived by her husband, Bill of Spring Green; her sister, Margaret Wiest of Dodgeville; three sisters-in-law, Mary (Frank) Campbell of Richfield, Minn., Jean Michels of Waunakee, and Leone Jacobson of Quartzside, Ariz; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Mary Meudt; and five brothers, Francis, Laurence, Charles, Frederick and Paul. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at 1 p.m. at ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Spring Green. Father Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Pleasant Ridge. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the church from noon until the time of service. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home, Spring Green, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
