Everything was done to relieve her suffering. Bertha Klitzke was born to Mr. and Mrs. August Klitzke, Dec. 27, 1874, in Panzels, Germany. In 1876 she came with her parents to America. She was confirmed in Reedsburg and joined the St. Peter's Lutheran church. On Sept. 5, 1893, she was united in marriage with Albert Gehrke after which they were members of St. John's Lutheran church at Ableman. Their union was blessed with nine children, William, of Ableman; Mrs. Alma Fuhlbohm, Mrs. Alta Schwenkhoff of Reedsburg; Mrs. Letna Loftsgordon of Madison; Agnes, Meta, George, Reinhold and Harold at home. Mrs. Gehrke was a sincere christian in her church and its services were very dear to her. She was an ideal mother, her first thought always being for her home and children, and they will indeed miss her in numberless ways. Besides her husband and nine children, she also leaves to mourn her loss two grandchildren, Ewalt Fuhlbohm and Delores Gehrke, two sisters, Mrs. Henry Klipp and Mrs. Will Zautke, and five brothers, Albert and Reinhold of Baraboo; George of London, Minnesota and August of Madison. The funeral was held Sunday at St. Johns in Ableman.

She is survived by her husband and three sons, Arthur, Herbert and Ewald, all who reside near Loganville. She also leaves five brothers, Albert and Hugo Klitzke who live near Loganville, George Klitzke of Austin, Minn., August Klitzke of Oregon, Wis., and Reinhold Klitzke of Baraboo.
Funeral aservices were held on Monday afternoon at the home and at St Peter's church in Loganville, the Rev. Schaulkauser officiating and burial was made in the Loganville cemetery.

He was born June 12, 1924, to George and Frieda (Harms) Klitzke in the Baraboo-Reedsburg area. Melvin was a carpenter for more than 30 years with the Milwaukee Carpenters Union, a semi driver for several years, and was employed with CHT Apartment Rentals for the last 15 years before his retirement in 2001. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying many trips to Canada over the years. Melvin married Eileen Lawrence on Nov. 27, 1946. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1972. He married Adeline Rapacz on June 15, 1974. Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Adeline; five sons and a daughter, Michael (Diane), Mel (Gloria); Jim (Michelle), Dallas (Ellie), Cameron, and Sandra (Edward) Podach; a sister, Margaret Daleidon of Hayward, Calif; 23 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Melvin was preceded in death by a son, Mark in 1987. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 404 E. Main St., on Friday, July 29, 2005, at 11 a.m. Celebrant will be Father William Seipp, a dear friend of the Klitzkes. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A luncheon at the church will follow the burial. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Melvin was a kind, generous, loving, gentle man, who will be greatly missed by his large adoring family.

Death26 May 1936Henry John George Klipp died on 26 May 1936 at age 65 Henry John George Klipp was born in the town of Westfield, Sauk County, Wisconsin on the 27th day of November, 1870. In infancy he was received into the covenant of God in Zion's Lutheran Church through the sacrament of Holy Baptism, Rev. G. Kessler being the pastor. After having been duly instructed in the word of God he renewed his baptismal vow through the act of confirmation in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ableman, Wisconsin. On March 14, 1899 he was united in Holy matrimony with Marie Klitzke. This union was blessed with three sons, their names are as follows: Arthur, Herbert and Ewald. After his marriage he moved with his wife to the farm one and one-half miles northeast of Loganville where he remained until his death. Two years ago on the 8th day of June, 1934 his wife preceded him in death. He lived together with his youngest son, Ewald. For the last 23 years he was a member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Loganville. Mr. Klipp seemed to be enjoying quite good health, however on Tuesday evening, May 26 at six thirty o'clock he was taken with a stroke of paralysis. He soon sank into a coma from which he did not again recover. He passed out of this life on Tuesday evening, May 26, 1936 at nine thirty o'clock. He leaves to mourn his passing his three sons Arthur, Herbert and Ewald all of the town of Westfield, one grandson, one sister, Mrs. Mary Grosskrueger of Westfield and many other relatives anbd friends. He attained the age of 65 years, 5 months and 29 days. Taken from the Reedsburg Paper of June 5, 1936.
