She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Howard Richard "Dick" Anderson; son, Todd Anderson; grandson, Wyatt Anderson; and sister, Shirley Edmundson.
Born on February 20, 1937, Fran was the youngest of Francis and Edith Frantz's two daughters. Fran grew up on a Lane County farm and graduated from Dighton High School, Dighton KS. Fran received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Denver and M.A. in Counseling from Wichita State University.
In Wichita, Fran used her education and innate empathy at the Women's Crisis Center and later at Planned Parenthood Great Plains she was the first Human Sexuality Educators in Kansas Public Schools. Fran finished her professional career as a counselor in Dr. George Tiller's office. Though Fran, her family, and her colleagues received horrendous threats, particularly during the 1991 Summer of Mercy, Fran strongly believed in living out her convictions.
Fran's compassion and ear for listening did not stop outside of work. It did not matter if you were a relative, an old friend, or about to become a new friend. She would listen to you, regardless of your walk of life, without judgment. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Time was also dedicated to supporting numerous charitable causes, including those at Grace Presbyterian Church, Economy Corner, and Wesley Hospital. Fran enjoyed spending time with loved ones, reading, writing, crafting, and taking exercise classes.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Friday, July 21, 2023, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Grace Presbyterian Church, 5002 E. Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS. Interment will follow at Wichita Park Cemetery.

He moved to Hanford in 1969 to do some hobby farming. After the passing of his first wife in 1979, he met and married Mildred Maxwell of Visalia, where he continued to live until his passing.

He served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, Post 3000. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, coin collecting, spending time with his family and having his dog Dallas at his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Lorraine Holder and Colleen Curti.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mildred Davis; four children, Gary Davis and wife Cathy of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Larry Davis and wife Pam of Corcoran, Karen Frey and husband Darrell of Corcoran and Tammy Dias and husband Leonard of Hanford; three stepdaughters, Joyce Bingham and husband Robert of Hanford, Jeannie Bradley and husband Mike of Lancaster, and Marilyn Smith of Mountain Home, Arkansas; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 8 at Miller Memorial Chapel in Visalia.

Graveside Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, October 9 at the Visalia District Cemetery.

Together, they lived in Maple Grove for 19 years and Clemmons NC for 5 years before retiring in Maple Lake. Nat worked as an accountant for Target Corp and Sara Lee Corp.

She is survived by her husband Robert of Maple Lake; step-son John & Michelle Twardy of Monticello; stepdaughter Julie & Bill Miles of Andover; four grandchildren Nicole Balthazor, Nick Solberg, Emily Twardy and Samantha Twardy; two great-grandchildren Mary and Morgan Balthazor; and sister in law Cookie Baer of Salem OR.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Jay Baer.

Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
