Pulvermacher of Lodi, and Lori (Bruce) Kindschy of Pardeeville; son-in-law, Noah (LuAnn) Dietzman of Wautoma; sister, Barbara (Donald) Weissinger of Minneapolis, Minn; nine grandchildren, Tanya Genz of DeForest, Heather (Matt) Solchenberger of Mauston, Jeremy (Katrina) Dietzman of Greenleaf, Allan (Vika) O'Connor of Madison, Rebecca Becker of Mauston, Theron (Beth) O'Connor of Portage, Amy (Corey) Clark of Portage, Christopher (Lou) Ruggiero of Phoenix, Ariz., and Nicholas (Dawn) Becker of Portage; her great-grandchildren; great-great-granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. | Death | 1 April 2025 | Clarence George Pulvermacher died on 1 April 2025 at age 94 Clarence Pulvermacher, 94, of Muscoda died on Monday, April 1, 2025, at Schmitt Woodland Hills. He was born June 16, 1930, in Sauk County on the family farm near Plain, the son of Leo and Hilda (Pletzer) Pulvermacher. Clarence graduated from Lone Rock High School in 1947 and joined the US Army shortly after. For two years he proudly served at the Isles of Seals Air Force Base in Alaska during the Korean conflict from 1952 to 1954. On September 9, 1961, Clarence married LaVaun Buening. Together they farmed for several years in rural Lone Rock, Ithaca, and rural Blue River. They raised seven children during that time and later separated. Clarence worked with Raymond Monroe at the Blue River Stockyards for several years. He was an active member of the Muscoda American Legion Post 85 and served as post commander from 1980 to 1982. He participated in many parades, presenting the colors with fellow legionnaires and helped with funeral honors for local veterans. On May 26, 1984, Clarence was united in marriage with Janet Anderson. Together they enjoyed small town living and stayed active in community events. Clarence enjoyed sharing humor and camaraderie with friends at the Muscoda meal site. He was glad to lend a helping hand to the Legion Club during Muscoda’s Morel Mushroom Festival. He also looked forward to and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Clarence was later employed by the Riverdale School District. He enjoyed working at the school and was warmly known as ‘C. P.’ by fellow co-workers and the students. In 2014, Clarence went on a four-day Vet’s Rollcall bus trip to Washington D.C. to see the war memorials. He and other veterans enjoyed the sights, and it was a great honor and experience for him. Clarence is survived by six children, Laurie Pulvermacher (friend Jesse Miller) of Dane, Lisa Block (friend Ben Tredinnick) of Platteville, Daniel (Doris) Pulvermacher of Baraboo, Daryl Pulvermacher of Muscoda, David Pulvermacher of Belleville, Lynn Brown of Viroqua; four stepchildren, Ned (Kat) Anderson of Virginia, Larry Anderson of Muscoda, Maria (Joe) Obeneder of Beloit, Nicole (Bobby) Clay of Virginia, 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the mother of his children, LaVaun Brown of Viroqua. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife Janet, parents, son Kevin, stepdaughter Suzy Cocciolone, daughter-in-law Vicki Anderson, son-in-law Eugene Brown, brother and sister-in-law Corneal & Vera Pulvermacher, sister and brother-in-law Dorothy & Vince Munz, sisters Alma, Martha and Marie, brothers-in-law Robert and James Heller. He had a sweet-tooth that many tried to fill with cake, cookies, and his favorite candies. He cared for his many dogs over the years and obliged and enjoyed feeding the birds after Dorothy’s passing. Survivors include five children: Thomas (Lynette) Munz of Richland Center, David Munz, Gary Munz, Jeanne Munz of Bear Valley, Deanna (Larry Mork) Munz of Richland Center, four grandchildren, Sarah, Tim, Katie, and Michael Munz, one brother, Paul Munz of Michigan, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Munz; his wife Dorothy M. (Pulvermacher) Munz, daughter-in-law, Janet (Sharp) Munz, and his brother’s Cyril & Fred Munz, his sister’s Esther Kaul & Bertilla LaMere.
