Virginia spent her formative years in Helena, Seattle, Butte, and Denver as her family moved wherever her father's job with the Railroad Express sent them to live. She attended St. Pat's grade school in Butte for the major part of her early schooling and graduated high school from Holy Family Catholic High School in Denver in 1939. She went to college in Kansas and graduated with a nursing degree in 1944.
Soon after graduation, she returned to Butte to marry the love of her life, Robert W. Walker, in February 1945. They spent many hard-working years together nurturing and raising eight children and building two homes while holding down jobs to make it all work!
Virginia was an adventurous daughter, a caring sister, a dependable friend, a loving wife, a knowledgeable nurse, a hard-working mom, a cherished grandma and great grandma. She will be missed, cherished, and remembered by all who knew her.
Virginia is survived by her sister, June (Scheewe) Williams of Costa Mesa, California. Also surviving are Virginia's six sons, two daughters, 22 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren: Bob Walker, Rian, Micah, and Tobin; Bill and Cathy Walker, Shawn, Gabe, and Lucy; Mary Ann and Dale Fossen, Kim, Amy, and Lisa; Dan and Patti Walker, Beau, Megan, Austin, and Annie; Elaine Shaw, Matt, Katie, Zach, and Tommy; Paul Walker, Melissa, Beth, and Ali; Joe Walker and Ashley; Ken Walker and Sarah.
The great-grandchildren are:

Other relatives surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Scheewe of Butte; a sister, Mrs. Helen Strauss of Beesville, Texas; four brothers, Oscar Scheewe of Denver, Colo; Robert Scheewe of Los Angeles, Calif; Larry Scheewe of New York city; and Charles Scheewe of Butte, and several nephews and nieces. For several years Mr. Scheewe had worked in the Milwaukee railroad office in Butte. A native of Helena, he attended the St. Helena and other local schools. More than 25 years ago he starred as a pitcher with the Holter baseball team in the City league, and he was considered one of the best amateur players in the city. The body will be sent from Seattle to Butte, and then to Helena. Funeral services and burial will be here.
