Birth3 May 1940Wayne Carl Hanusa was born on 3 May 1940 at Wisconsin.
He was the son of Henry Herbert Hanusa and Elvadore Dorothea Hamburg.
Death17 January 2024Wayne Carl Hanusa died on 17 January 2024 at age 83 Wayne Carl Hanusa, age 83, passed away at Maplewood Nursing Home, Sauk City on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024. He was born at home in Loganville on May 3, 1940 to the late Henry H. and Elvadore D. (Hamburg) Hanusa. He was united in marriage to Eleanor I. Schmidt on May 11, 1965 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Reedsburg.

Wayne was a man of many passions, known for his exceptional skills as a fisherman, hunter, and master woodworker. His love for the outdoors was evident in the joy he found by the water or in the midst of nature. Whether casting a line into a serene lake, tracking through the woods, or crafting intricate pieces in his workshop, Wayne's connection to the natural world and his impressive woodworking ability was unparalleled.

One of the cherished chapters in Wayne's life was the craft store he and his beloved wife, Eleanor, ran from the heart of their home. Together, they transformed their living space into a haven for creativity, where people from near and far would travel great distances to marvel at the incredible crafts they meticulously curated. The craft store became a symbol of Wayne and Eleanor's shared passion for building and crafting. Spending countless hours side by side, they not only crafted beautiful pieces that captivated visitors but also enjoyed the simple yet profound joy of each other's company. Their home-based craft store was more than just a business; it was a testament to the deep bond they shared and the love they poured into every creation, leaving an enduring legacy of creativity and togetherness. A true sports enthusiast, Wayne was an avid supporter of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. His passion for these teams was a source of camaraderie and shared excitement among family and friends. He found joy in cheering on his favorite teams and celebrating their victories.

Wayne's legacy extends beyond his accomplishments; it lives on in the cherished memories he created with those who knew and loved him. As we remember Wayne, let us reflect on the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Eleanor; daughters, Kim (Bruce) Ballweg and their children, Andrew (Isabel) Reithmeyer and Bryce, Cory (Allyson Nysted) Reithmeyer, Keifpher (Julia Knoll) Ballweg, Kaiyzer (Kylie) Ballweg and kids, Keagan Ballweg, Kisstin Edge and kids, Connie (Mark) Flood and their children, Cole and Lauren. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harlan Hanusa.
