A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, June 29 in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Smyrna. Interment will be 1 pm CST Thursday, June 30 in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Rev. Riley was preceded in death by his wife Margaret N. Riley, parents Reginald and Zeula Oden Riley, brothers Stapleton and Clyde Riley, sister Sara Ruth Riley. He is survived by his daughters Margaret Ruth Riley of Powder Springs, Elisabeth Anne Nettles (Jimmie) of Powder Springs, son James B. Riley, JR (Glendra) of Round Rock, TX, granddaughters Sarah Ruth Parten (Ben) and Casey Noel Nettles, great granddaughter Riley Anne Parten. Those who wish may make contributions in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday, June 28 at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna.

She departed this life Friday, March 14, 2008 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of ninety-six years, one month and two days. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Rena Griner, Doris Goodall, Marguerite Goin, Harold Goin, Earl Emmerson Goin and Mary Jane Niemann. Survivors include three nieces, Ingrid Goin of Norway, Donna Lee Page of New Mexico, and Sunnye Espinosa of Illinois; a nephew, James Wesley Griner of Florida; great-nieces and nephews, Steve and Curt Espinosa, Donna Grosz, and Becky, Bruce and Michael Page; and a brother-in-law, Maurice C. Niemann of Camdenton, Missouri. She was raised in Dewitt County, Illinois and attended school there. After graduation, she moved to Chicago where she remained for most of her adult life. While in Chicago she worked as an auditor for Fred Harvey's restaurants. She retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1960. While at the lake, she worked part-time in the title office at Phillips and McElyea. She had also served as an election judge in Linn Creek. She enjoyed quiet times and the simple things of life. In her spare time, she enjoyed golf and had been a member of Lake Valley Country Club. She also enjoyed doing word puzzles. Ruby was a loving aunt and sister-in-law and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials to Parkinson's Disease Foundation may be made through the funeral home.
