Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 21, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with Rev. John Pietramale officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. Military services will be provided by the Hartington VFW Post 5283.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington and will continue at the church from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 4:30 and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be his sons and sons-in-law: Keith, Gayle, Doug and Darin Becker; Shane Slaughter; Matt Steffen, Ben Hussey.

Marcell was born December 11, 1937, at Hartington to Frank and Hulda (Hochstein) Becker. He grew up on a farm northwest of Hartington and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. He married Denelda Lammers on February 7, 1961, at Fordyce. He farmed and had a cattle feeding operation northwest of Hartington. He bought the Hartington Elevator in 1984 and began Becker Trucking in 1985. He enjoyed boating, going to cattle sales, morning coffee with the guys, trucking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and a former member of the Holy Trinity School Board and Finance Committee. He was president of the Hartington Rural Fire Department Board, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Cedar County Catholic Schools and Parishes Blue Ribbon Development Committee, and the Cedar Catholic Endowment Board.

Marcell is survived by his wife Denelda of Hartington; seven children and their spouses: Keith and Bette Becker of Hartington; Joan and Ben Hussey of Des Moines, Iowa; Gayle and Rhonda Becker of Hartington; Diane and Shane Slaughter of South Sioux City, Nebraska; Brenda and Matt Steffen, Doug and Sheila Becker, and Darin and Angie Becker all of Hartington; 23 grandchildren; two brothers and their wives: Roman "Bud" and Esther Becker, Kenneth and Sheree Becker, all of Hartington; two sisters and their husbands: Jolene and Harold Leise of Hartington, Alice and Marcel Lammers of Pincher Creek Alberta, Canada; a sister in law, Jeanine Johnson of Crofton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: infant Della Velma Becker and LaVerne Pick; a brother, David Becker.

Lammers, 75, of Yankton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton. The Rev. Michael Schmitz will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a 7 p.m. wake. Visitation will resume an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Photo and arrangements by Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory in Yankton.
He died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton.

Marvin was born at home, the second of nine children, on Aug. 27, 1940, to Hugo and Hildegard (Arens) Lammers. He grew up on the family farm, attended grade school in Fordyce and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Hartington. Marvin farmed until the mid-1970s and later gained employment at Dale Electronics, where he retired after 20 years.
Marvin married the love of his life, Marcella (Gentrup) Schumacher, on Aug. 13, 1974, making their home in Crofton. After retirement in 2001, they moved to Mountain Home, Ark., and returned to Crofton three years later. In 2012, they moved to Yankton.
Marvin was a member of the Yankton National Guard for six years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling, camping with his family and playing cards when he could win.
Marvin is survived by his spouse, Marcella of Yankton; nine stepchildren, Cindy (Jim) Hilligas of Garfield, Ark., Dennis (Cindy) Schumacher of Crofton, William (Diane) Schumacher of Wausa, Pamela Sprakel of Yankton, Carmine (Robert) Nice of Malmo, Dr. Keith (Rhonda) Schumacher of Howells, Luann (Duane) Schumacher of Bloomfield, John (Kristi) Schumacher of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, and Roger (Angie) Schumacher of Sarepta, La; a stepdaughter-in-law, Rita Schumacher; many stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three sisters and four brothers, Denelda Becker of Hartington, Allan (Carol) Lammers of Hartington, Mary Jean (Jerry) Steffen of Crofton, Vernon (Glendy) Lammers of Fordyce, Merlyn (Pat) Lammers of Pennsylvania, Daryl (Jean) Lammers of Fordyce, Anita Kneifl of Sioux Falls, S.D., and David (Lori) Lammers of Fordyce.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; a stepson, Bradley Schumacher; and a brother-in-law, Marcel “Tubber” Becker.

Vernon Leonard Lammers was born on October 14, 1946 in Yankton, SD to Hugo and Hildegarde (Arens) Lammers. He grew up in the Hartington area and attended elementary school in Fordyce at St. John the Baptist. Vernon attended Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington and graduated in 1964. He was part of the first class to graduate from Cedar Catholic after the school was renamed from Holy Trinity High School. After high school, Vernon joined the National Guard and then farmed with his dad. Hugo died when Vernon was 22 years old. After his father’s death, Vernon continued to farm with his brothers on the homeplace. On September 18, 1971, Vernon married Glendy Wiepen at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Helena, Nebraska. Together, they had eight children.

Vernon was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He enjoyed tractor pulls, hunting, driving his Chevelle, and getting together with the card club. Vernon loved his family and especially cherished the time spent with grandchildren. He was also an excellent cook and his family will always remember the many great meals he made.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Glendy Lammers of Hartington; children, Shawn (Seth) Baugher of Anderson, CA, Curtis Lammers of Hartington, Melissa (Zach) Markham of Bellevue, NE, Michael Lammers of Yankton, SD, Heath (Amanda) Lammers of Volin, SD, Chase Lammers of Hartington, Miles (Jamie) Lammers of Hartington, Sonny Lammers of Hartington; 11 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mary Jean (Jerry) Steffen of Crofton, NE, Allen (Carol) Lammers of Hartington, Merlin (Pat) Lammers of Fremont, NE, Darrell (Jean) Lammers of Hartington, Anita Kneifl of Sioux Falls, SD, David (Lori) Lammers of Hartington; and sister-in-law, Marcella Lammers of Yankton, SD.

Gary Dean was born on January 28, 1943 in Hartington, Nebraska to Martin Julius and Mildred Mathilda (Arens) Kramer. He grew up on a farm southeast of Crofton. Gary was a multi-sport athlete and graduated from Crofton High School in 1960. Gary began farming with his dad and later bought his own farm where he raised livestock, harvested grain, and ran a hog operation. He was involved in soil conservation, receiving the NRD Award for terracing and tree planting. He married Julie Marie Ausdemore on April 28, 1966 at St. Rose of Lima Church in Crofton. Gary enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and some favorite pastimes included playing cards, bowling, golfing, coyote hunting, and camping with his family at the farm. Gary also served on the Dolphin township board for close to 40 years.

Gary is survived by his seven children Brian Kramer of Hartington, Brenda (Michael) Edison of Lincoln, NE, Jackie (Bill) Dumansky of Sioux Falls, SD, Theresa Wavrunek and fiancé Aaron Olson of Yankton, SD, Michael Kramer and fiancé Stephanie Guenther of Crofton, Stephanie Kramer of Lincoln, Brent Kramer of Lincoln; 8 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven siblings Mary Lou (John) Addison of Newcastle, LaDonna (Tom) Kuchta of St. Helena, NE, Rose Ann (Keith) Newman of Lawton, IA, Francis (Deb) Kramer of Yankton, SD, Randy (Sandi) Kramer of Yankton, SD, John (Sue) Kramer of Hartington, Marty (Bonnie) Kramer of Hartington, and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Mildred Kramer; Julie Kramer, a stillborn older Baby Brother, brother Norman Kramer, and sister Gerri Lynn Pinkelman.
