Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Virginia B. Scheiwe, of Fort Pierce; sons, Kurt D. Scheiwe of Endicott, N.Y., Stephen D. Scheiwe of Cosby, Tenn., and Thomas D. Scheiwe of Auburn, Ala; sisters, Fern Speet of Holland, Mich., and Connie Schmid of Gillman, Ill; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

On April 6, 1946, she was united in marriage to Thornton E. Huff, who passed away April 9, 1979.

Della was involved in several organizations. She served in the Tipton Women's Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Donley Extension Club, Pitch Club, Moniteau County Historical Society, Moniteau County Republican Club, American Cancer Society, and Friends of the Maclay Home. Della had a radio program on Moniteau County history for thirteen years. She also edited seven books for the Historical Society. She was an avid Kansas City Royals fan.

Della was a member of Tipton Community Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School secretary and church clerk. She edited the church's monthly newsletter since 1983, and taught Sunday School and Bible School for over forty years.

Della is survived by her son, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Kay Battles.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home, Tipton, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 20, 2023, at Tipton Community Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
