She was born on November 19, 1941 in Reedsburg, WI, the daughter of Leo and Margaret (Voelkel) Mears. Sandra was a graduate of Beloit Catholic High School. She married Donald Schultz on February 17, 1961 in St. Jude Catholic Church, Beloit. He predeceased her on September 23, 2006. Sandra was an awesome self-taught cook and manager in the restaurant and catering business. She always wanted everyone to eat well with many events in her lifetime. Sandra had a love of art, oil painting, and charcoal drawing pictures. She loved the great outdoors including camping and fishing in Wisconsin and North Dakota. Sandra worked with the DNR in Onalaska, WI, helping control burns and observing eagle nests. She was a former member of St. Jude Catholic Church and volunteered with designing and caring for their flower garden. Sandra made quilts for single mothers with babies, helped AIDS victims, and helped with spaghetti dinners and children's activities with the Delavan Cub Scouts. She will always be our Angel in heaven. Love and miss you forever. Survivors include her children, Carol (James Stavn) Schultz, Traci Schultz, and James Schultz; grandchildren, Brandon (Jennifer) Schultz, Tony Guerra Jr., Matthew Schultz, Jennifer (Gabe Herda) Schultz, Makayla (Raquan) Brown, and Makenzie Haynes; great grandchildren, Cayleb and Camdon Schultz, Colin Vansickle, Mason Wissmar, Ashyla, Jordan, and Elijah Brown, and Wesley Herda; siblings, Gerald (Linda) Mears, Randy Mears, Victoria (Ronald) Decker; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; daughter-in-law, Christine Schultz; sister, Michaeline Mears; sister-in-law, Karlene Mears; long-time best friend, Joyce Penewell Howard. Felker Co. for 15 years and later was a salesman for Northern Auto Supply Co. for six years in Marshfield and for five years in Stevens Point. A veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Bremmer was a member of the American Legion of Marshfield. He also was affiliated with St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point and the Knights of Columbus in Marshfield. He married Sally J. Hahn Oct. 27, 1951 at St. John's Catholic Church. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Karla) Leppen and Judy Bremmer, both of Stevens Point; one son, David, Stevens Point; one grandson; and one brother, Francis J. of Canton, Mich. |

She spent her early school years at St. John’s Catholic School in Marshfield and attended Columbus High School. On April 7 th , 1951, Dorothy joined in marriage to Sgt. Francis James Bremmer at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield. Dorothy and Francis were together 55 years until Francis passed away in 2007. Dorothy’s devotion to her Catholic faith directly guided her life, and in turn, her families’ lives. Her support for her husband’s military career was unbending. She moved her growing family twelve times in her husband’s career, coming full circle back to Marshfield to live in the home she grew up in. As an expert seamstress she designed and created clothing for her children and grandchildren. She relished the opportunity to show off her talent with creations of stunning wedding gowns, American Beauty doll ensembles, as well as wardrobes for her daughters. Her mindfulness to detail made holiday celebrations and family reunions held at her home extra special. She always went the extra mile! Dorothy loved God’s little ones-acknowledging each child she encountered for their individual uniqueness. In her life she enjoyed golf, the theater, bowling, travel, socializing with family and friends and never missed the opportunity to visit the casino. All will miss her contagious laughter and light-hearted nature. She is survived by her seven children: Diane Denesha of Cape Cod, MA, Terrance (Suzy) Bremmer of Indianapolis, IN, Thomas Bremmer of Stratford ,WI, Colleen (Paul) Coile of Dunnellon, FL, Pamela (Michael) Brownell of Buffalo, WY, La Vern (Linda) Bremmer of Chelsea, MI, and Cheryl (Matt) Schmeling of Pinckney, MI; 9 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jennifer, Jaime, Katie, John, Francis, Celeste, Ann Marie, and Samantha; 6 great-grandchildren: Hayden, Sarah, Delainey, Henry, Alice and Emma. Sally Bremmer was born 10 September 1933 in the Town of McMillan, Marathon County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Edward W. and Anastasia (Daisy Lecher) Hahn. She grew up on the farm at McMillan, the fifth of seven children. Like many girls her age, she worked at the local canning factory before her marriage to Louis R. Bremmer on 27 October 1951 at St, John’s Catholic Church. Sally, who had only an 8th grade education, worked to expand her education in the hopes of entering the workforce. She took typing and bookkeeping night classes which provided the knowledge to work first at Figi’s during the Christmas season and, once the children were in school, at Columbus High School in the food service area. Louis and Sally moved to Stevens Point, Wisconsin in 1974. Louis passed away in 1978. After Louis’s death, Sally worked at St. Michael’s Hospital and waitressed at the Whiting Hotel. She also completed cosmetology school in Madison and opened her own electrolysis business. During this time, she met Ed “Smiley” Lakin who was her companion until his death in June 1996. After Smiley’s death, Sally moved from Fond du Lac to her current residence in Marshfield. There she met Dan Redman, who has been her constant companion. Dan and Sally had just spent the winter in Arizona. Sally was always active, sewing and cooking, crafting, square dancing and playing cards with her family and friends. Sally Bremmer is survived by her loving companion, Dan Redman, her daughters, Karla A. (Walter) Leppen and Judy J. Gray, four grandchildren, Andrew J. (Connie) Leppen, Jennifer L. (Joshua) Chiamulera, Jed A. (Lindsay Hattenburg) Gray, and Zane R. (Sarah Sticha) Gray, and five great grandchildren, Emma, June, Lena, Brayden, Zoe, and Eleanor. She is also survived by siblings, Robert Hahn, Stevens Point and Lucille (James) Schreindl, Marshfield. Sally is preceded in death by her husband, Louis, grandson, Kenneth W.
