Emil Friedrich Heinrich Senholtz died on 15 December 1909 at age 21 The funeral of the late Emil Senholtz, who died from a gun shot wound self-inflicted while hunting rabbits last week, was held Saturday afternoon at the St. John's Evangelical church, Rev. H. Siegfried officiating.
While the weather was extremely cold, a large number of friends paid their last respects to the departed by attending the funeral, the church being crowded to the entrance. Rev. Siegfried delivered an impressive and consoling sermon, and paid a worthy and fitting tribute to the deceased.
The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful, among them being a large wreath presented by the following young friends: George Ohlenkamp, Gustav Batterman, Carl and Fred Engelking, Martin Hinze, Herman Orenz, Henry Tatge, Ernest Ohlenkamp, Fred and Wm. Reichert.
Deceased was born February 15, 1888, on the present farm of his parents in the town of Washington, and where he grew to manhood. He leaves besides his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Senholtz, three sisters, Annie, Millie and Amanda, and two brothers, Fred and August, to mourn his demise.

Her husband, August Senholtz, died March 22, 1988. Also deceased are a daughter Janet Lee Schweppe, granddaughter Gail Jean Schweppe and one great grandchild.
Surviving are one son-in-law, William Schweppe, and a foster son, Bernard Williams, both of Beecher; granddaughters and spouses, Vickie and David Hernandez and Cindy and Dennis Rybolt, all of Beecher; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Beecher Senior Citizens and St. John's Ladies Aid.

Joseph Gaylord Blakesley, familiary referred to as Squire Blakesley, was another settler in 1851, and brought with him a large family. His wife's name was Ruby Bliss. They settled in the town of Marston, and their original land is now contained in the town of LaValle, but members of his family soon became connected with the village of Ironton, where for more than half a century Blakesley's Store has been traditional, so the facts concerning them may fittingly be given in this sketch of Ironton. The children of Joseph Gaylord Blakesley were: Phoebe, who married Leander Wheeler; Clarine, who because the wife of J. T. Lunn, esteemed early Sauk County Educator; Ephriam, who married first, Mary Ballard, daughter of Hiram Ballard, and had three children, Eulella J., Charles G., and Alfred J., and for a second wife married Caroline A. Huntley, daughter of Ludwick and Charlotte (Smith) Huntley, widow of George Swift, and had two chidlren, Mary L., and Lee C. Blakesley; Noah G. Blakesley, who married Mary E. Blanchard, daughter of O.C. and Hannah (Kezear) Blanchard.
