A memorial service for Doris Joan Lykken Sherry of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be at 4:00 PM, Friday, November 10, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Reverend David Kapler presiding.

Doris passed away October 23, 2017, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri, due to injuries sustained from a motor vehicle collision on October 18, 2017. She was a loving mother and wife, survived by 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Doris was born on June 18, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by Kenneth John Lykken, husband for 56 years, and Harold Sherry, husband for 9 years. She lived in Mountain Home since 1991. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Twin Lakes Golf Club and Mountain Home Elk Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Waltraud (Unger) Sunderlin; siblings, Astrid, Irene, Ina, Rose, and Gus. Survivors include one son, Robert G. Sunderlin (Catherine) of Plainfield, Indiana; daughter, Heidi Lykken (Luke) of Illinois; sister, Helen Roppolo (Tony) of Marco Island, FL; grandchildren, Robert J. and Alex T., Lloyd, Kristian, Emily, Luke, and Easton; companion, Betty Record of Mooresville. Beverley Opdahl, daughter of Oscar and Eva (Finn) Newberg, was born September 5, 1934, near Alcester, South Dakota. She grew up and attended school in Alcester, South Dakota. She married Myren Anderson of rural Beresford, South Dakota, on December 27, 1951. They farmed near Akron, Alcester, South Dakota, and Beresford, South Dakota, before moving to Hawarden in 1975. She was employed at many retail stores in Hawarden and the area and as a certified nurse aide at Morningside Manor Care Center in Alcester and Hillcrest Health Care Center. They moved to Hurst, Texas, in 1983, where they lived until Mr. Anderson died on March 30, 2000. She then returned to her home in Hawarden. She married Larry Opdahl on July 18, 2001, and they continued to make their home in Hawarden. She entered Morningside Manor Care Center in Alcester, South Dakota, in January 2007.

She was a member of American Lutheran Church in Hawarden. She enjoyed her flowers, the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to Christian stations on radio and television and attending church activities. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Opdahl of Hawarden; three daughters, Cynthia Wilkens of Mitchell, South Dakota, Brenda and Charles Ericson of Alcester, South Dakota, and Renee and Scott Olson of Corsica, South Dakota; five step-children, Mark and Marie Opdahl, Melissa and Jeff Eilts, Matthew and Connie Opdahl, Michael and Jennifer Opdahl and Molly and Mark Morgan; six grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and a sister, Delilah and Jack Merrick of Alcester, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Myren Anderson; a half-sister, Dorothy Browning; and a half-brother, Harold “Bud” Naeve.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Gayle Louise, the daughter of Adolph Walter and Louise (Jacobs) Rosemore, was born July 8, 1932 in Minnesota. Gayle's younger years were spent in Minnesota then her family moved to South Dakota and she graduated from Alcester High School in 1950. On November 29, 1950, Gayle was united in marriage to Roger G. Anderson and this union was blessed with four sons. Following Roger's discharge from the military, the couple moved to and made their home in the Riverside area of Sioux City. Gayle was a busy homemaker and she worked a few different jobs outside the home. For 30+ years she worked as a bartender at the V.F.W. on Court Street until her retirement in 2012. Roger passed away on February 5, 2014 and Gayle continued to live in her own home until 2018 when she moved to Bickford Senior Living. Gayle enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble; doing oil paintings; and was an avid watcher of Judge Judy. She loved her birds and her special dog, Moochie. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She was member of Riverside Lutheran Church and the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary. Gayle is survived by three sons and their spouses: Marlon (Debra) Anderson, Bryon (Cheryl) Anderson, and Joel (Shele) Anderson all of Sioux City; six grandchildren: Melissa (Jamie) Recker, Marnee Daugherty, Bryon (Crystal) Anderson, Jacob (Latrinda) Anderson, Selina Anderson (Nick Darr), and Austin (Tara) Anderson; 16 great grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Leroy Anderson of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; one son, Steven Anderson; one brother, Jack (Audell) Rosemore, and one sister, Lois (Leon) Stalls.

Death2 July 2020Cleone Elaine Luschen died on 2 July 2020 at Sioux City, Woodbury, Iowa, at age 84 Cleone E. Anderson, 84, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020. A graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 10, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Cleone was born the daughter of John and Martha (Twillman) Luschen on September 23, 1935 in Hawarden, Iowa. Cleone married LeRoy Anderson on March 25, 1952 in Dakota City, Nebraska. After their marriage they moved to Alcester, South Dakota where they farmed. They moved to Sioux City in 1960.

Cleone worked for Truck Haven and Harvey’s Café for many years. She later worked for Step in Thyme floral shop for 15 years until her retirement.

She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed decorating, entertaining at family holidays, and embroidering. She also enjoyed going to the Senior Center in South Sioux City with LeRoy and collecting chicken knickknacks.

She was a 60 year member of Riverside Lutheran Church and a 25 year member of Izaak Walton.

Cleone is survived by her husband, LeRoy Anderson of Sioux City; children, Greg (Theresa) Anderson of Crofton, Nebraska, Sharon Anderson of Sioux City, Rhonda Anderson of Sioux City, Randy Anderson of North Sioux City, and Karen Anderson of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James in infancy; sisters, Winifred and Mildred; and brother, John Jr.
