Leo Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Shimek was born Rose Zeman, February 28, 1884, at Greenstreet, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Korinek Zeman. She was married to Charles A. Cherney in 1906 and the couple operated the Cherney Hotel and Opera Hall at Kellnersville. He died in 1924 and she was married to Charles Shimek in 1929. The couple continued to operate the business until 1932. He preceded her in death in 1944.
For the past four years she had made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clement Halbach of Appleton. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Clement (Mildred) Halbach of Appleton and Mrs. A.J. (Grace) Sutherland of Nashville, Tenn; four sons, Charles F. Cherney and Joseph Cherney of Manitowoc; Victor Cherney of Brillion and Jerome Cherney of Menchalville; 22 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 o’clock this Wednesday evening.
