Ann was born on Dec. 7, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Carrie (Burke) Hoppenjan. She married the late Guerdon Riechers on Aug. 31, 1948. She and Guerdon ran a family dairy farm and lumber business near Montfort for many years. Ann taught elementary school in Fennimore for 16 years and was very active in the Wisconsin Education Association and Catholic Daughters. She loved life, whether it was time with her family, organizing card clubs, being involved in church activities, or shopping for the latest gadget that she "absolutely needed."

Ann is survived by her six children, John (Dianne) Riechers of Eau Claire, Lawrence (Jeanette) Riechers of Madison, Ruth Mathe of Middleton, Bernard (Kathleen) Riechers of Andover, Minn., Ronald (Teresa) of Sun Prairie, and Beth (Thomas) Kersten of Long Grove, Ill; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Hoppenjan and Robert (Renee) Hoppenjan; sisters, Mildred (Richard) Sorenson and Jean (Terry) Cleary; brother-in-law, Donald (Wanda) Riechers; sisters-in-law, Joyce Hoppenjan, Lorraine Riechers and Joyce Riechers; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Harold and Richard; sisters, Eileen, Florence and Joyce; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m., with visitation at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

He was born on Aug. 2, 1927, near East Dubuque, son of Edward and Marie (Cluka) Knaeble. He moved to Arizona from East Dubuque in the late 1970s.

He was formerly employed with Dubuque Plumbing and Heating Co. and later operated Knaeble Plumbing and Heating.

One of Jim's favorite hobbies was his love for horses. He was a former member of the East Dubuque Lions Club and the East Dubuque Saddle Club. Jim helped organize many of the East Dubuque Rodeos held at the East Dubuque ballpark and participated in the calf roping events.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda (Jack) Nachtman and Debbie (Don) Klauer, both of Dubuque; two sons, Dan Knaeble and Dave (Sandy) Knaeble, both of East Dubuque;

11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gerry (Don) Oliver and his former wife, Hazel Knaeble (friend, Buzz Risley), all of East Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marie Knaeble.

Elda was born on October 12, 1921 in Grant County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Alfred and Margaret (Menne) Kelly. She was united in marriage to Herman Hottenstein on July 18, 1944 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Tennyson. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2006. Elda farmed along with her husband, Herman, for many years. She was the bookkeeper for Lone Pine Cheese Factory and later worked for Homeward Bound. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Platteville. She enjoyed crocheting, where she made afghan’s for her entire family over the years. Elda was a care giver to her grandchildren and other children whenever needed. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Kratochvill; son, David (Sandra) Hottenstein; daughter-in-law, Pat Hottenstein; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death also by her parents, son, Gene on March 14, 2009, son-in-law, Bob Kratochvill, and two brothers, Reuben and Mark Kelly.

Ron was born on July 14, 1943 at his parents’ home in Platteville. He is the only son of Leo and Inez (Kabele) Hying, along with six sisters. After graduating from Platteville High School in 1961 he joined the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Texas, Omaha, and then France. On December 2, 1967 he married the love of his life, Rosella (Wubben). Soon after they were married they moved to Madison where Ron was a member of the Fire Department, Station #9. After a few year Ron and Rosie purchased their 230 acre dairy farm and moved back Platteville where they raised their two children, Glenn and Gina. Farming was Ron’s passion and reason for living. He enjoyed visiting with people at the local sale barns and especially enjoyed his daily trips to town, meeting with the coffee crew at table #9 at Ed’s Café.
Ron was an avid bowler and loved pitching horseshoes. He accumulated many trophies and awards over the years in each, in bowling he was the top bowler for seven years. He enjoyed traveling to tournaments and in May 2001 he won a trip to Reno, Nevada. He enjoyed playing cards, square dancing and following the Packers. Ron truly enjoyed his four granddaughters, Kayla, Kami, Ella and Ayden. He was also a “grandfather” to many other children through the 13 years his daughter’s family did foster care.
Ron is survived by his wife, Rosie; children, Glenn Hying and Gina (Mike) Ubersox; granddaughters, Kayla, Kami, Ella and Ayden; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Piper; four sisters, Pat Scanlan, Joyce (Robert) Brischke, Jean (Al) Fetterly, Carol Henry and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Nancy Hying and Donna Marshall.
