While young, Etta's mother with her fatherless children moved to Grant County, Wis. Mrs. Palmer married Morris E. Crandall and they settled near Utica, Wis., when Etta was eight years old remaining there till she was sixteen at which time they moved to Milton Junction.

On March 28, 1894, Etta was united in marriage to Fred M. Carr of Milton. This vicinity has been their home with the exception of six years spent in Wood County, Wis.

Three children, a son, J. Haldone, who served his country during the World War in the 32nd Division in France, and daughters Maud I. and Alice E. with their father are left to miss a loving mother and wife. Mrs. Carr also leaves two sisters, Mrs. W. F. Tuttle, Madison, Wis., and Mrs. S. D. Hartwell, St. Paul, Minn., and three brothers, S. J. Palmer, Sheridan, Wyoming, Will Palmer, Bethel, Wis., and Geo. Palmer, Dawson, Minn., also a step-brother, O. G. Crandall and a step-sister, Mrs. M. G. Stillman, Lost Creek, W. Va., besides many other relatives. Her two sisters and brother, S. J. Palmer, were with her during the last days of her sickness, which ended October 1, 1919. Mrs. Carr was reared in the S. D. Adventist faith and united with that church.

Eld. E. F. Ferris assisted by A. G. Johnson conducted the funeral services on Friday October 3. Words of comfort were spoken to the many relatives and friends who gathered to show their regard for the one, who like her Saviour whom she had tried to follow, delighted in ministering to the needs of others.

The remains were interred in the Milton cemetery.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were: W. F. Tuttle, Mrs. F. M. Rogers and Mrs. J. P. Verner from Madison, Wis., and Mrs. E. D. Crandall, Edgerton, Wis.
