Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with Rev. Jeffery Loseke officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church. The Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the Holy Trinity School Endowment, Cedar Catholic Endowment or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Pallbearers will be Matt Mines, Reid Kathol, Turner Becker, Shane Becker, Ty Hegge, Jon Hoesing, Jarryd Schieffer, Zach Becker, Anthony McTaggart, Eric Hames, Cody Klug and Brian Sudbeck. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Cedar Catholic Class of 2007. Miles was born on May 31, 1988 at Yankton, SD to Roman and Nancee (Newman) Sudbeck. He was baptized, received his First Holy Communion and was confirmed at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He attended Holy Trinity Elementary School and graduated from Cedar Catholic High School in 2007. He lettered in football, basketball and golf. He loved golf and all the friendships he made through golf. He qualified for the State Golf Meet all four years playing for Cedar’s State Runner-up golf team in 2004 and also playing on the undefeated 2005 State Championship team. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. When Miles was a sophomore in 2004 he developed Type 1 diabetes. As a result of his training to manage this disease, he decided to pursue a degree in nursing at Metro Community College in Omaha where he was a student. He has worked full time as a CNA at the University of Nebraska Medical Center for the past 3 years. He loved being Uncle Miles to Anna, Brody and his godchild, Josie Grace, who was baptized on March 5, 2011. He is survived by his parents, Roman and Nancee Sudbeck of Hartington; 2 brothers, Ross and Betsy Sudbeck and their children, Anna Marie and Josie Grace of Kearney; Rory and Becca Sudbeck and their son, Brody Thomas of Omaha; paternal grandfather, Orville Sudbeck of Hartington, a maternal grandmother, Donna Newman-Hackl of Wynot and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Don Newman, paternal grandmother, Shirley Sudbeck, and a step maternal grandfather, Howard Hackl.

She was currently employed at Larson Manufacturing as a customer service representative. Survivors include her husband, Dave of Arlington; three sons, Chandler, Alex and Even, all at home; her parents, Dick and Jan Groon of Arlington; three brothers, Jim and Kevin, both of Arlington, and David (Tabatha) Groon of Estelline; three nieces; her grandmothers, Irene Groon of Arlington, and Berine Soeth of Willows, Calif; her father-in-law, Allen (Melanie) Fonseca of Willows, Calif; her mother-in-law, Debbie (Jeff) Kanner of Sacramento, Calif; several aunts, uncles and cousins. On Sept. 27, 2009, Tim married the love of his life, Erin Harris, in a rose garden in Boise, Idaho. Tim continued his education all through life, planning to receive his M.S. in information systems in August 2011. He is survived by his wife, Erin Harris Groon; parents Bob and Sherry; brothers, Chris (Angie) and Dan Groon, Arlington; a nephew a niece; grandmother Irene Groon and grandfather James Zuiderhof, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Emil Groon, his grandmother Jenny Zuiderhof and his cousin, Beth (Groon) Fonseca.
