Visitations will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton with a 7:00 p.m. rosary followed by a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service.

Pallbearers will be J.D. Hoesing, Josh Hoesing, Wade Hoesing, Chad Hoesing, Ryan Thorson and David Hyde.

Dellano was born on December 17, 1932 to Hubert and Elizabeth (Hoebelheinrich) Hoesing. He was born, grew up and farmed northwest of Menominee until 2000. He married Mary Schaefer on April 24, 1956 at Menominee. He worked many years at Stockmen’s Livestock in Yankton. He enjoyed working with cattle and gardening. Mary died on July 31, 1999. On November 13, 2000 he married Rita (Pick) Kleinschmidt.

Dellano is survived by his wife, Rita; eight children and their spouses: Della and Dan Haas of Tabor, SD, Hubert and Deb Hoesing of Dakota Dunes, SD; Karl and Lori Hoesing of Rapid City, SD, Darrell and Linda Hoesing of Fordyce, NE, Lyle and Michelle Hoesing of Yankton, SD, John Hoesing of Beatrice, NE, Sharon and Mark Thorson of Rapid City, SD and Curt and Lynn Hoesing of Pullman, WA. He is also survived by three step children, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Elizabeth Hoesing; his first wife Mary Hoesing; five sisters and their spouses: Leona and Alfred Haberman, Sr., Verna and Pete Schmidt, Marian and Emery Heine, Kathleen and Edmund Bruening, and Del Rae Schaefer; two brothers and spouse: Arland and Rita Hoesing and an infant brother.

Mary was born May 26, 1933, in Menominee to Henry and Theresa (Bruns)
Schaefer. She grew up and lived in the Menominee area all her life.
She attended eight years of elementary education at Menominee and
graduated from Mount Marty High School. She married Dellano Hoesing
April 24, 1956, at St. Boniface with the Rev. Zilli officiating.

Mary belonged to the Christian Mothers and the Ladies Guild..

She is survived by her husband, Dellano, Menominee, eight children:

S.D; Karl (Lori) Hoesing, Rapid City, S.D; Darrell (Linda) Hoesing,
Gayville, S.D; Lyle (Linda) Hoesing, Tabor, S.D; John Hoesing,
Beatrice; Sharon (Mark) Thorson, Rapid City, S.D; and Curtis Hoesing,
Pullman, Wash; 17 grandchildren; two sisters, Rita (Wilfred) Zavadil,
Menominee, and Mildred Schroeder, Menominee: two brothers, Sylvester
(Evelyn) Schaefer, Yankton, S.D; Harold (Helen) Schaefer, Yankton,
S.D; and one sister-in-law, Fern Schaefer, Yankton, S.D.

the Ladies Guild. She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Mardell and Alan
Fleer, Houston, Texas; Mary Haberman, Menominee; Karen and Claude Sudbeck, Hartington; Duane and Sara Haberman, Menominee; Kathleen and Tom Sedlacek Sr., Tabor, S.D; Bernice and Brad Lubbers, Omaha; and Keith Haberman, Menominee; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Verna Schmidt, Crofton; Marian Heine, St. Helena; and Kathleen Bruening, Yankton, S.D; and two brothers, Dellano Hoesing, Menominee; and Arland Hoesing, Loveland, Colo.

Mr. Hoesing graduated from Auctioneering School in 1954, in Iowa. He farmed in Nebraska and moved to Colorado in 1982 to work as a cattle manager for Farr Feeders. He retired in 1995.

He was married to his wife, Elizabeth, for 41 years until her death. On March 4, 2002, he married Judith Ann Lukenbach in Longmont.

He loved working with quarter horses and enjoyed camping and fishing.

Survivors are his wife, Judith Hoesing of Longmont; four daughters, Ramona Smith of Colorado and Bridget Bevers, Valerie Hoesing and Michelle Hoesing, all of California; two sons, Gregg Hoesing of California and Jason Hoesing of Illinois; and five grandchildren. A son, Warren Hoesing, and his parents are deceased.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Stoddard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
