Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary at 2 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Wintz Funeral Home and Wednesday at the church one hour before service.
Bonnie Louise Sudbeck was born on June 19, 1930, in Randolph to William and Virgie (Linger) Jaeger. She attended Hartington Public School and married Vernon H. Sudbeck on Aug. 17, 1948, in Bow Valley.
Bonnie was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America and the Help Your Neighbor Club. She also belonged to the Yankton Regional Aviation Association. Bonnie loved to cook and was noted for her hospitality.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon of Hartington; three children, Karen and husband Ed Scdoris of Hartington, Diane Sudbeck of Hartington, son David Sudbeck of Charleston, W.Va; one granddaughter, Julie Vander Mark of Hookset, N.H; brother Ralph and his wife, Darlene Jaeger of Sioux City, Iowa; sister-in-law Alice Klug Jaeger of Hartington; and brother-in-law Lajoy and his wife, Elly Sudbeck of Hartington; and one nephew and three nieces.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Brenda Bottolfson; two grandsons, Joshua Bottolfson and Jeffrey Vander Mark; and a brother, Wm. Jaeger Jr.
Pallbearers will be Danny Sudbeck, John Jaeger, Bill McTaggert, Blair Kalin, Jim Augustine and Dan Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers will be the Christian Mothers and the Help Your Neighbor Club.

Burial of her cremated remains will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 5-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation continues one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Diane Marie Sudbeck was born on January 17, 1951 in Yankton, SD to Vernon Herman and Bonnie Louise (Jaeger) Sudbeck. Diane graduated from Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington in 1969. She then attended the University of South Dakota where she received her nursing degree. Diane started her nursing career at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD, then moved on to Sturgis, SD for a short period of time. She then joined the Traveling Nursing Corps where she accepted assignments in California, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Virginia and Maryland (working at Walter Reeds Army Hospital and the National Institute of Health.) Diane then went to Jerusalem, Israel where for the next 16 years she worked in the critical care unit at Hadassah Medical Center. Throughout her stay in Jerusalem, she went with a missionary group to Poland and Russia where they helped the poor with food, clothing, and medical needs. Diane resumed her travelling work while in Omaha, NE and then moved back to Hartington in 2005, living on the home place. She began helping Vernon care for her mother Bonnie at that time. Diane also helped with the area aging group while in Hartington.

Diane is survived by her father Vernon Sudbeck of Hartington; sister Karen & husband Ed Scodoris of Hartington; brother David Sudbeck of Charleston, WV; uncle Ralph (Darlene) Jaeger of Sioux City, Iowa; aunt-in-law Alice Klug; cousins John Jaeger, Maria Wheeler, Joan Lammers, and Carla Ausgustine.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Sudbeck on July 3, 2010; a sister Brenda Bottolfsen; nephews Joshua Bottolfsen and Jeffrey Vandermark; niece Julie Vandermark; uncle Bill Jaeger; uncle & aunt Lajoy & Elly Sudbeck.

Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and a vigil was held at 7 p.m.

Darnell was born on October 13, 1944, in Cedar County, the daughter of Fred and Olivia (Wiebelhaus) Schieffer. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school before graduating from Crofton High School in 1962.

On April 27, 1963, Darnell married Dennis Maly at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Constance.

The couple made their home in Pilger, NE, for three years before moving to Norfolk in 1966. While in Norfolk, Darnell worked as a waitress for Becker Steakhouse and later the Nucor Steel Cafe.

In 1977, the family moved to Battle Creek. Darnell was a partner in McD's Steakhouse before she retired due to her failing health.

She was member of St. Patrick's Catholic Parish and it's Altar Society.

Darnell is survived by: her husband of 41 years; her children and their spouses -- Kelly and Cathy Maly, and their two children, Chelsea and Jordan, of Norfolk; Brenda and Bill Bruening, of Hartington, and Jim Maly, of Ralston; her brothers and sisters and their spouses -- Delwyn and Patty Schieffer, of Crofton, DeNelda and Larry Nelson, of Sioux City, Iowa, Marcelene and Emery Schmitt of South Yankton, Neb; Marnie and Rose Schieffer, of Crofton, Teresa Foner and her special friend Don Hanzlik, both of Niobrara, and Arlis and David Hunhoff, of Yankton, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Gervase Schieffer and one sister, Victoria Schieffer.
