The wedding took place in Marion, S.D. with about one hundred relatives present. The bride was lovely in a pink and white formal dress and the groom appeared in the conventional dark suit. The attendants were Patty McCabe, who wore a baby blue lace and net dress and Dwayne McCarthy, best man, who like the groom, appeared in a dark suit. After the wedding dinner was served to approximately 60 guests at the Parish Hall in Marion. Tuesday evening another dinner was sponsored by all the Juffer relatives which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed De Vos. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Juffer will make their home in Yankton where his is employed by the Great Northern Railroad. Mrs. Juffer was employed as a clerk at the Temple Dept. Store in Marion before her marriage.1

Mr. and Mrs. Harm Juffer and five children set sail from Gelderland, Netherlands in 1881 and settled in Pella where they lived for 2 ½ years. Mr. Juffer was a mason. The family moved to Sioux Center in 1883 and settled on a farm, three miles north and a half mile east of Sioux Center where Dick, the elder son, operated the farm, while Mr. Juffer did mason work. The children are: Carrie (Mrs. Jake Van Mannen, Beaver Creek, Minn.); Dick, Sioux Center; Gertie (deceased); Jane, (Mrs. J. H. Van Deest) Sioux Center; and Gerrit (deceased). There are 20 grand children and 33 great grandchildren.
