Visitation will be on Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, from 3:00-9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 8:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home, Crofton, NE. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Chad Reifenrath, Casey Reifenrath, Brent Mueller, Jon Ballard, Brandon Smith and Brent Tschirren. Honorary pallbearers will be Susan Smith, Jenny Tschirren, Tasha Mueller and Annie Goeden.
Norbert was born on a farm southwest of Constance, NE on May 5, 1915 to Frank Gerlach and Theresa (Mueller) Reifenrath. He grew up in the Constance community with his five brothers and two sisters. He attended St Joseph's School and Church in Constance. Norbert helped farm with his father and brothers for many years. He married Viola Arens on Sept. 25, 1944, at Crofton. They resided on a farm southwest of Constance which Norbert's parents homesteaded when they married. They continued farming with his dad and brothers and later purchased the farm and lived there for 42 years. They moved to their new home in Crofton in 1986. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in September.
Norbert was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and served on the parish council, member of the Holy Name Society, NFO, was a former linesman and secretary for Fairview Telephone Co., and was a former board member of the Crofton Golf Course. Norbert was a baseball pitcher with the Constance team for many years and later enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing cards. During his retirement, he helped in the development of the Crofton Lakeview Golf Course. He loved being a part of the progress and was very proud of it. He read the newspaper in detail every day and was always concerned about our country and had a deep respect of Mother Nature. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his daughter and family in Las Vegas during the winter months. His grandchildren will always cherish the tractor rides, the go-cart, baseball games, golfing, the garden, flying kites, 4th of July fireworks, and their visits after school. We will always remember his big blue eyes, calm temperament, and the love he gave to each of us.
Thankful for having shared his life are his wife, Viola, 4 children and their spouses, Connie and Dave Ballard of Las Vegas, NV; Mick and Kathy Reifenrath, Terry and Mike Mueller, Marie and Randy Goeden, all of Crofton, NE; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Susan and Brandon Smith, Jon Ballard, Chad Reifenrath, Casey Reifenrath, Brent Mueller, Jenny and Brent Tschirren, Tasha Mueller, Annie Goeden, one great grandchild, Sydny Mueller, 2 brothers and their wives, Lawrence and Kay Reifenrath, Crofton, Don and Imogene Reifenrath, Crofton, and one sister and her husband, Laura and Clarence Arens, Crofton.
He was preceded in death by his parents 3 brothers, George, Albert, and Rudolph Reifenrath, and one sister, Mary Ann Leise.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton, with the Rev. An Duy Phan officiating. Burial will be at the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Crofton. Visitation will be on Monday, December 27th, at church, from 5-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton.

Pallbearers will be Levi Arens, Ryan Arens, Trevor Doyle, Wyatt Kremer, Dakoda Arens, Austin Ronspies and Jackson Arens. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sharron Theresa was born on February 19, 1940 in Wynot, Nebraska to Herman and Walburga “Wallie” (McCloud) Wiebelhaus. She grew up in Wynot and graduated from Wynot High School. She worked in Sioux City, Iowa at a hospital and then worked in Yankton, SD. She married Alvin Paul Arens on October 22, 1957 in Crofton, NE. Sharron worked at Bogner’s Steak House in Crofton and then at Gurney’s Seed and Nursery in Yankton. She and Alvin raised a family of 14 children. In 1983 Alvin and Sharron moved to Kansas where they both drove and owned a Taxi business. In 1985 they moved to Osmond and then to Norfolk in 1987 where they purchased and operated the Skyline Motel. They retired and moved to an acreage south of Norfolk, NE in 2011.

Sharron was a very hard worker. She gardened, took care of her orchard, canned, raised chickens and was a wonderful housewife and mother.

Sharron enjoyed fishing, riding horses, going to country concerts, sewing, growing flowers, drawing, bowling and creating special moments with her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and was a very compassionate person to many who encountered her. She was loved and will be missed.

She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, an EME, a member of the Ministry of Praise, a member of the Christian Mothers and a former Parish Council member. She was instrumental in helping her husband develop the Crofton Lakeview Golf Course. She enjoyed crocheting, golfing, bowling, card playing and Nebraska football. She is survived by two children and their spouses, Larry and Ann Arens, Crofton; and Judy and Steve Boesch, Longmont, Colo; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bernie (Sharon) Asbra, Laurel; eight grandchildren, Amy Diefenderfer;
Shawn Arens; Patrick, Kelly, Trisha and Todd Arens; Jeremy and Adam Wysuph;
two great-grandchildren, Kayle and Colton Diefenderfer; three brothers, Giles Tramp, Gretna; Alvin Tramp, Omaha; and Jerome Tramp, Omaha; and one sister, Joan Cook, Leeds, Ala. Wallie was born May 10, 1920, to William and Leona McCloud in Allen. She attended grade school in Jackson.
She was united in marriage to Herman G. Wiebelhaus on Nov. 24, 1939, in St. James. They lived in the Wynot-Hartington area until 1960 when they moved and farmed north of Center.
Wallie was a homemaker. She loved flowers, to garden, bake, fish and play cards with the children, grandchildren and friends. Her passion was crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her children, Kenneth Wiebelhaus of Center and his friend, Cherl of Creighton, Sharron and her husband, Alvin Arens of Norfolk, Gary and Judy Wiebelhaus of Fort Scott, Kan., James and Sharon Wiebelhaus of Neligh, Patricia Potts of Crofton, Herman and Susan Wiebelhaus of Center, Dennis Wiebelhaus of Creighton, Jane Hinrichs of Winnetoon; a family friend, Jerry Vogt of Creighton; 36 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Donavon and his wife, Dixie McCloud of Oskaloosa, Iowa; sisters, Josephine Schumacher of Hereford, Texas, Leona and Raymond Stewart of Wheatland, Mo., Peggy and Cliff Stover of California, Bonnie and Harlen Ochs of Texas; many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Mary Frances; an infant grandson, Ryan James; three sisters; and daughter-in-law, Donna (Potts) Wiebelhaus.
