He was born on February 21, 1965, in Reedsburg, WI, the son of LaVern and Adeline (Thieding) Peper. Paul was a graduate of Webb High School. He was employed with Grede Foundry for 17 years. Paul milked and worked for his aunt and uncle on their farm for several years and was a former pharmacy driver for Phillips Pharmacy. Most recently, he was a Correctional Officer at the New Lisbon Correctional Institution.

On August 17, 1996, Paul was united in marriage to Linda Drea. This marriage was blessed with a son, Colton. Paul was an avid sports fan. He was a little league coach in Colton’s youth and had fun traveling with the teams to various tournaments. He was a Vikings fan and enjoyed going to Brewer baseball games and Badger football games. Paul was a hunter and fisherman and found relaxation in the outdoors. He had an eye for art and was a talented Taxidermist. He owned and operated Peps Taxidermy where he created unique mounts.

Paul is survived by his wife, Linda of LaValle; son, Colton (Michaela) Peper of Reedsburg; brothers, Doug Peper, Brian (Katie) Peper; sister, Pam Peper, all of Loganville; step-mother, Verdi Peper of Loganville; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Pat (Sheryl) Drea of Hillpoint, Lisa (Chris) Calhoun of Elroy, Mike (Mandi) Drea of Cazenovia; nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and mother and father-in-law, JoAnn and Tom Drea.

Funeral services for Paul Peper will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Monday, April 29, 2024, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Tuckertown. Visitation will be held on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.

Jerry married the former Elaine Slama on September 25, 1971.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Pulvermacher of 52 years, his sons, Jeff Pulvermacher of Minneapolis, MN, Derrick (Jill) Pulvermacher and their children Audrey and Ella of Eau Claire, WI, sisters, Carrie Dischler, Marcie Liegel and Pat Gudenschwager, a sister-in-law, Carol Pulvermacher, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harold and Gene Pulvermacher, brothers-in-law, Delbert Gudenschwager and George Liegel.

Jerry worked in retail for over 30 years managing stores in many locations, lastly in Antigo, WI where he owned a Ben Franklin Store. He moved back to Plain in 2003 and worked at Cardinal Glass before his retirement. Jerry loved being outdoors just taking a walk in the woods. One of his favorite pastimes was finding recipes and cooking food especially wild game for his friends. He enjoyed hunting turkey, deer and gathering with his friends to talk about hunting, sports, politics and of course to solve all the worlds problems. Most of all he loved spending time with his granddaughters, Audrey and Ella. Jerry was a fun guy to be around. You always knew where he was in the room when you heard his laugh. He will be greatly missed.

A private family graveside service will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery in Plain.

She was born May 3, 1932 in Loganville, WI to Arnold and Martha (Prochnow) Hasz. She was baptized, confirmed, and also united in marriage to Merle Groener on August 4, 1951 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Loganville.

She was a 1950 graduate of Webb High School and worked at Reedsburg Equity Warehouse and the Reedsburg Bank. She was a Volunteer Certified Braille Transcriber for 13 years for the LCMS and Library of Congress. She donated blood 72 times. She was active at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in LWML and Ladies Aid and served on the Financial Management Council, Outreach, Stewardship, and Stephen’s Ministry. She participated in Golden Agers, was secretary for the Reedsburg Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and served as president, vice-president, and Trustee of the Old Settlers Association. She loved music and played instruments by ear. She was the pianist for the Kitchen Klangers Band and played organ at the Snyder nursing home and Health Care Center.

She also loved gardening, card clubs, sewing, quilting, upholstery, cake decorating, and craft making. She participated in many talent shows as Edith Ann (Laugh-in character). When her maternal grandfather immigrated to the states in the late 1800’s his twin brother remained in Germany. Communication with that family was lost as they lived in East Berlin. During a tour of the Scandinavian countries and Germany in 1987 Lorena met a couple in Lubeck who she kept in touch with and in 1993 they were able to locate her relatives for her. Many wonderful trips were made to Germany and many of the German family visited Reedsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years Merle; son Ronald; brothers Orrlen, Vernon, and Norman Hasz. Survivors include her daughter Sandy (Tim) Sweeney; grandchildren Laurie (Darren Snyder), Angie Sweeney (Bryan Hohensee), Jennifer (Ali) Pervaiz, Adam (Amy) Groener, Christian Groener; great grandchildren Alivia and Jeffrey Stefanich, Aaron and Adler Groener, Aiden, Leila, Quinn, and Zara Pervaiz; daughter in law Priscilla Groener; nephew Jim (Sue) Hasz; and nieces Sharon (Rick) Gale and LuAnn (Tim) Peterson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 11 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Crolius officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 until the time of service at Church on Tuesday. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.

He was a graduate of Reedsburg High School, Class of 1979. After graduation, he started his own construction company. Jeff was a wonderful father, proud Papa, an amazing brother, a heck of a softball player (short-stop), spectacular pool player, and a great friend, he also enjoyed farming and golfing. The highlight of his life was watching his children and grandchildren play sports/activities. He was always so proud of his family’s accomplishments.

Jeff is survived by his 8 children, Laura (Quintin) Bradley, Deanna (David) Livingston, Justin Hahn (Chelsee Ritschard), Tiffany Hahn (Brook Severson), Ashley Hahn (Matt Jahn), Nathan Hahn (Randi Rydberg), Bradley (Victoria) Hahn, Quincy Hahn; his 16 grandchildren, Karter, Hailey, Tessa, Tricia, Mason, Hunter, Brayden, Tayla, Landon, Arya, Jaxson, Charlotte, Liam, Johnathon, Grayson, and Rylee; mother of his children, Linda Speich; his siblings, Pam (Tim) Scott, Gregory Hahn, and Henry Hahn; friend, Beverly Bauer; and many nieces and nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Mueller; brother, Dennis Hahn.

He will be missed dearly and never forgotten! A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held, Saturday June 15, 2024, at Narrow’s Creek Winery at 1:00-5:00pm.
