Marriage1992Frank Bashford Breitzke married Grace E. Zellmer, daughter of William E. Zellmer and Thelma Applegarth, in 1992.
Death6 June 2010Frank Bashford Breitzke died on 6 June 2010 at age 61 Even though unexpected. Frank B. Breitzke passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 6, 2010. He was born December 9, 1948 in Madison, to Melvin W. Breitzke and Elvira J. (Taylor) Breitzke, they preceded him in death. Frank was a free spirit, he lived life the way he wanted and was not affected by what others thought. When he was born his three older sister knew they had something special! They loved their "Little Frankie". Frank was an Army Veteran serving with the 8th Airborne Division from 1967-1970. He never forgot his first and last jump out of an airplane, and to this day he was afraid to ride in a plane! Frank had a dry sense of humor and was known for playing pranks on everyone around. He was the funniest person you'd ever meet. Yet a very strong person. As a friend said today, "I particularly remember his beautiful eyes and gentle spirit". That is how all those who survive him will remember him. He loved sports, especially Badger athletics. One of his favorite things in life was to attend Badger football games every fall with his son, Andy. He enjoyed talking politics and was always proud to be an American. He cared about his country very much. He enjoyed reading and talking about anything from history to religion he was a smart guy. He enjoyed the little things in life. He absolutely loved spending time with his granddaughter, Nevaeh, she was and will always be Grandpa's little girl. Frank was a loving dad, husband, brother, grandpa, uncle "Panky" and friend. He was loved by many and will be forever missed but never forgotten. Frank is survived by his wife, Grace "Tippy"; three children, Chelan (Andy) Easland, Cottage Grove, Andrew and Emily Breitzke, Madison. He left behind three beautiful grandchildren, Caden and Sienna Easland, and Nevaeh Diaz-Breitzke. He is further survived by four wonderful sister, Dr. Connie O'Connor, Milton, FL, Joan (Charles) Hanson, Minnetonka, MN, Gayle Beach, Hopkins, MN and Mary (Gene) Riehl, Kaukauna; Chelan's mother, a friend for life, Kathy Martell, Madison; several nieces and nephews, Kim (Javier) Ruegas, Cathy O'Connor, Randy (Ashley) Reeves, Jane Reeves, Pam (Mike) Wiseman, Kelly (Tim) Kelly, Kari (fiance Simon Ly) Riehl and Keven Schmidt. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, friends, and of course, his feline friends, P.J. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home 3325 E. Washington Ave. Madison. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison.
