He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and tending to his lawn and garden. He was a member of First United Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Hazel of Honey Creek; children, Linda (Rich) LeMoine of Prairie du Sac, Jerry (Mary) Boettcher of Blackhawk, Ken (Sandy) Boettcher of Plain, Rick (Diane) Boettcher of Mazomanie, Daryl Boettcher of Lake City, Minn., Butch (Sandy) Boettcher of Prairie du Sac and Jeff (Dawn Dyke) Boettcher of Eagle River; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles (Dorothy) Boettcher. Funeral services will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Sauk City Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

She worked at many different places, including Badger Ordnance, Wisconsin Dairies, Flambeau, Ray-O-Vac and Wetzel’s Eggs House. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Boettcher’s Bar in Leland for 10 years, then went on to work for the Sauk Prairie School District as head cook at Tower Rock for 17 1/2 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Sauk City, and Plain American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by six children, Jerry (Mary) Boettcher of Blackhawk, Ken (Sandy) Boettcher of Plain, Rick (Diane) Boettcher of Prairie du Sac, Daryl Boettcher of Lake City, Minn., Butch (Sandy) Boettcher of Prairie du Sac and Jeff (Dawn Dyke) Boettcher of Eagle River; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Alma Krenz; two brothers, Robert and Paul (Maureen) Patterson; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law Linda and Rich LeMoine; a sister, Ethel Johnson; and two brothers, John and LaVern Patterson. A memorial service was held at First United Church Of Christ, Sauk City, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. Interment was in Sauk City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First United Church of Christ, Plain American Legion Auxiliary, or Plain Ambulance Association.

For 30 years, Linda worked at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant, where she loved her work and the comradery she had with her colleagues until she retired in 2011. Linda was a loving wife, mother and sister. She was a caring and humble person who always put others before herself. She enjoyed going for walks and country drives with her husband, working to keep her house and yard looking pristine, being with family, and continuing the traditions at holidays that made time with family special. Linda especially enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and neighbors who knew her as a very willful and determined woman. This was most evident in her brave fight with her recent illness. She set a wonderful example for her children through her gentle and loving nature. Rich always made time for his family and will be forever remembered for his big heart, his kind words, and his endless love. He was an exceptionally proud grandpa and loved to spend time with his two granddaughters. Rich was a remarkable competitor in everything he did, which led to his passion in sports. If the Packers, Badgers, or Brewers were on TV, he was watching them. In 1993, Rich was inducted into the Reedsburg High School Hall of Fame with a decorated sports career. In football, he played on two conference championship teams where he set the conference scoring record, was voted team MVP, named all-conference twice, and was named all-state once. In wrestling, Rich was voted team MVP twice, won two individual conference titles, and won one state title when there was just one wrestling division in the state. He compiled a 65-2-1 career record in wrestling. Rich is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Laurie (Graig) Kerl; his son, Josh (Meredith) LeMoine; grandchildren, Abby and Riley Kerl; mother, Lorraine LeMoine; brothers, Lyle (Ella Mae), Ronnie (Linda) and Gene (Judy); sister, Darlene (John) Schuette; mother-in-law, Hazel Boettcher; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Mary), Ken (Sandy), Rick (Diane), Butch (Sandy), Daryl and Jeff Boettcher (Dawn Dyke). She was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Leland and current member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North Freedom. Arleen was a teacher until 1946, and then worked on a farm with Oscar, where they raised five children together. Over the years, Arleen worked for Badger Ordnance, Industrial Coils, and as a seamstress at Baraboo Tent & Awning. She volunteered in the 1980s for International Crane Foundation. Arleen was an avid reader, gardener, bird watcher and loved sewing. In her later years, Arleen concentrated on crocheting countless rugs for many friends. Survivors include her children, Roger Rudolph of Baraboo, Marilyn (John) Christiansen of Waukesha, David (Bonnie Schulte) Rudolph of Baraboo, Robert (Lori) Rudolph of Baraboo, Kathryn (Larry) Gibson of Navarre, Fla; grandchildren, Cortney Christiansen, Amanda and Sarah Gibson; sister, Florence Spangler of Madison; brother, James Boettcher of Madison; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar in 1995; brothers, Harley Boettcher, Leon Boettcher; and sister, Elvera Merrill. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North Freedom with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating.
