Richard, 86, of Kieler, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, November 17, 2021, surrounded by family at Stonehill Health Center, in Dubuque, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Church, in Kieler, Wisconsin with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A public visitation for friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Immaculate Conception Church Parish Center, where a parish scripture service will be held at 3:40 p.m. Friends may also call from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Parish Center before the service.

Jeannette was born on April 14, 1935, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin and Dorothy (Larkin) Haas. She married Thomas F. Richard on July 25, 1953. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2017.

Jeannette loved her husband and her seven children. Being a mom was most important to her, as she instilled values of faith, responsibility, hard work and appreciation of what you have. Jeannette also valued friendship as she nurtured many of these relationships throughout her life. The last five years she enjoyed new friendships at Stonehill where she continued her love of playing cards, crocheting, crafts and Bingo.

Survivors include four daughters, Donna (Dave) Richard-Langer, Urbandale, IA, Karen Hayat, Sun Prairie, WI, Kathleen (Dan) Richard-Eggers, Athens, GA, and Connie (Arvind) Deshpande, Washington, D.C; three sons, Dave (Belinda) Richard, Wautoma, WI, Ken Richard, Madison, WI, and Keith (Clare) Richard, Kieler, WI; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Klaas, Platteville, WI; two paternal sisters-in-law, Viola Richard and Joan Richard, both of Kieler; a brother-in-law, Larry (Diane) Richard, Mineral Point; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jack Haas and Bob Haas; two grandchildren, Emily Eggers and Marie Hayat; one great-grandchild, James Richard; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Alice Richard.

The Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Larry was born on August 22, 1944 to Edward & Alice (Brandt) Richard in Kieler, WI. He graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School Dubuque, IA in 1962. He married Diana Theresa David on April 23, 1966. Together they raised three sons in Kieler. Larry spent most of his working years in the automotive repair industry. He owned an auto body repair business, Twin Oaks, and was the service manager at Kieler Garage, Gratz Motors and Weier Motors. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, bowling and playing cards, but most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Diana; 3 sons: Rick (Diedre) Richard, Ron (Vicky) Richard and Rob (Carrie) Richard; 5 grandchildren: Grant (Cori), Zachary, Zoë, Jonah and Violet; a sister, Jeanette Klaas; 2 brothers-in-law: Don (Kathy) & Steve (Sherrie) David; 3 sisters-in-law: Madonna David, Joan Richard & Viola Richard; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings: Dorothy Klaas, Violet Kuhl, Carol Campbell, Bob Richard, Tom Richard, Jim Richard & John Richard; 2 sisters-in-law: Mary Richard & Jeannette Richard; 5 brothers-in-law: Denis David, Bob Campbell, Bob Klaas, Merlin Klaas & Merlyn Kuhl.

He was born on July 3, 1928, in Louisburg, son of Raymond P. and Loretta (Kuhle) Klaas. He married Jeanette Richard on June 28, 1952, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Kieler.

He graduated from Loras College and attended St. Francis Seminary, Milwaukee, for a year. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Robert was a construction superintendent for Urban Klaas for 16 years, and later for Conlon Construction, Dubuque, until his retirement in 1987.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville.

Robert more than anything was a true "family man."

Surviving are his wife, Jeanette, of Platteville; eight children, Rob (Diane) Klaas, of Janesville, Ron (Nancy) Klaas, of Verona, Lorri (Jim) Rosemeyer, of Platteville, Richard Klaas, of Madison, Lisa (Jean Lawler) Klaas, of Minooka, Ill., Fran (Sheri) Klaas, of Yorkville, Ill., Mary Lynn (Mark) Taylor, of Burlington, and Fred (Elaine) Klaas, of McFarland; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a great-grandson due in March; four sisters, Eileen "Dot" Schaefer, of Potosi, Loretta "Sis" Duggan, of Platteville, Jane (Jim) Flogel, of Key West, Iowa, and Diane (Mike) Pitzen, of Dickeyville; stepmother, Gen Klaas, of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Urban, Merlin, Kenneth, John, Herb and Monsignor Raymond; and a sister, Mary Muller.
