Cliff was born on May 2, 1928, in Platteville, WI, the son of William and Ethel Doelz Van Natta. He graduated from Platteville High School in 1946, and married Marion Linden, his high school sweetheart, on June 22, 1950.

Cliff is survived by his brother, Glen of Lancaster, WI, son, Robert (Marcia) Van Natta of Westfield, WI, daughter, Catherine (John) Jones of Jasper, IN, and daughter-in-law, Heather Van Natta of Madison, WI; five grandchildren, Jessi (Cody) Ebben of Minnetonka, MN, Amy (Justin) Weishaar of Westfield, WI and Carolyn, Emily and Zachary Jones of Jasper, IN; sister-in-law Elaine Linden Pokrandt of Oshkosh, WI; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion, on July 11, 2009, and his son, David, on December 11, 2011; also brothers Maynard, Leonard, Donald and sisters Lela, Fern, Marion, and Alice.

Cliff served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954, stationed in Germany. While there, he played on the Army’s Red Legs football team and met lifelong friends, Earl Plank and Ged Marchertas. Cliff initially worked as a plumber with the family business, Van Natta Plumbing and Heating, in Platteville. In 1962, he joined the staff at UW-Platteville in plumbing and later became the Maintenance and Craftsman Manager until his retirement in 1989. Cliff was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Platteville where he volunteered tirelessly serving on church committees and maintaining the church and school buildings. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Fourth Degree Grand Knight. He belonged to American Legion Post 42. Cliff played fast pitch softball for several years and loved pitching horseshoes. He was a founding member of the Platteville Horseshoe Pitchers Association. He was an avid Pioneer, Badger, Packers, and Brewers fan. Cliff enjoyed working in his yard, doing household improvement projects, reading, and listening to music.

Cliff was blessed with wonderful, caring neighbors and friends over the years. The family wishes to thank Sue Shafer who lovingly cared for him at home over the past four years, the staff at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City and Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care.

Cliff is remembered as a wonderful, loving father and grandfather, a witty, charming gentleman, and a gracious, faithful man. His kindness, perseverance, and positive attitude set an example by which we all can live.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 29, 2020, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Scriptural wake service beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by a time of sharing.

Interment will be held in the Pleasant Valley Township Cemetery.

Edna Agnes Watters was born on August 17, 1932, on a farm in Tennyson, Wisconsin, the daughter of Peter and Odelia “Delia” (Wiest) Rupp. She married Carleton Watters on June 6, 1953, at St. Rose church in Cuba City, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1994.

Edna enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and also babysitting. In her free time, she loved to cook and bake. Carleton and Edna created many fond memories while camping with family and friends. More recently, Edna enjoyed spending winters in Texas with special friend, Bob.

Survivors include three sons: Danny (Bernie) Watters, David Watters, Steve (Brenda) Watters; daughter: Teresa (Gary) Jochimsen; sister: Dorothy Puls, AZ; brother: Ambrose (Lois) Rupp, WI; ten grandchildren: Carl, DeWayne, Rachael, Andrea, Brent, Mindi, Jesse, Jake, Kelsey, and Gina; and seventeen great-grandchildren; special friend Bob Brood.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Peter and Odelia Rupp; husband: Carleton Watters; sister: Leila Brink; two brothers: Louis and leonard Rupp; four sisters-in-law: Hazel Rupp, Marie Rupp, Gloria Rupp, and Louise Rupp; two brothers-in-law: Willard Brink and Odo Puls; daughter-in-law: Deb Watters.

She has one sister, Tesha Norwalk. Alesondra was reared in three states, Wisconsin, Arizona and Texas. She graduated from Cedar Park High School in May of 2008. She then went to cosmetology school at Baldwin Beauty School and graduated in September of 2009. She became a hair stylist and really cherished her clients, co-workers and the art of her profession.

Alesondra loved being around her dogs, Alfred and Chico, her friends, co-workers, family, and always had a friendly and outgoing personality for anyone she met. She loved to listen to music, socialize, work with animals and help people.

She is survived by her parents, Mark and Brenda Norwalk; her sister, Tesha Norwalk; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Betty Norwalk; her maternal grandparents, Lonna Kaney and Vern (Lois) Kaney; her aunts and uncles, Michele (Dan) Urban, Steve Kaney, Cindy Kowalke, Tammy Kaney; cousins, Matt Kaney, Tim (Jennie) Kaney and Dorian, Amberly (Jimmy) Cooper and Christian and Jocelyn, Tierney (Tyler) Rego and Ezra, Jamie Urban; and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 624 East St., Baraboo, on May 23 at 7 p.m.
