Gift bearers will be Judy Strunk and Karen Coins. Casket bearers will be Larry Thobe and Orville. Norman, Eldon, Dale and Dean Ludwig. Burial will be in the Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. A rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and a Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A son of Henry and Mary (Naberhaus) Ludwig, he was born June 26, 1903, at Mount Carmel. On Nov. 23, 1927, he married Elizabeth Thobe at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with the Rev. Peter Sturm officiating. They purchased the Mount Carmel Garage and lived in Mount Carmel for 15 years. In 1947, they purchased a farm four miles west of Odebolt. The Ludwigs moved into Odebolt upon retirement, where Mr. Ludwig worked at the golf course for six years. They moved to Carroll in 1983. Mr. Ludwig was a member of Holy Spirit Church. Mr. Ludwig is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, of Carroll; a son, Marvin and his wife, Helen, of Urbandale; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Ludwig and his wife, Lynette. of Mount Carmel; and a sister-in-law. Rose Ludwig of Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Leonard. Wilfred. Tony and Arnold; and a sister Amelia Sanders.

Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. A rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and a Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A son of Henry and Mary (Naberhaus) Ludwig, he was born June 26, 1903, at Mount Carmel. On Nov. 23, 1927, he married Elizabeth Thobe at Our Lady of
Mount Carmel Church with the Rev. Peter Sturm officiating. They purchased the Mount Carmel Garage and lived in Mount Carmel for 15 years. In 1947, they purchased a farm four miles west of Odebolt. The Ludwigs moved into Odebolt upon retirement, where Mr. Ludwig worked at the golf course for six years. They moved to Carroll in 1983. Mr. Ludwig was a member of Holy Spirit Church. Mr. Ludwig is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, of Carroll; a son, Marvin and his wife, Helen, of Urbandale; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Ludwig and his wife, Lynette. of Mount Carmel; and a sister-in-law. Rose Ludwig of Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Leonard. Wilfred. Tony and
Arnold; and a sister Amelia Sanders.

He served overseas in Japan and was honorably discharged in 1954. Marvin and Helen Lansink were married on June 26, 1956. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Marvin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Helen, his children, Patrick (Wendy) Ludwig, Karlene (Alan) Stokes, Michael (Barb) Ludwig, Kevin (Gretchen) Ludwig, Dianne (Michael) McCreary, and Terry Ludwig, 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, from 7-8 p.m. with a 8 p.m. rosary service at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3663 66th St., Urbandale, Iowa, on Tuesday, February 26 at 10:30 a.m. with a luncheon following. A private burial will be at the Veterans Cemetery near Adel.

Mardelle Marion Ludwig died on 22 May 2019 at age 95 Mardelle Marion was born on March 7, 1924, in Carroll, Iowa the daughter of Martin and Catherine (Neppl) Ludwig. She attended school in Milford, Iowa and graduated from Milford High School in 1942.

On September 25, 1948, Mardelle was united in marriage to Arthur Warren in Milford, Iowa. The couple made their home in Spencer, Iowa where they raised their six children. Mardelle created a loving home, where she enjoyed baking, canning, working in her vegetable and flower garden. Mardelle and Art also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe. The Warren family loved coming to their cabin in Alexandria and in 1972 made Alexandria their permanent home. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters.

Mardelle died on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. She is survived by her six children: Mark (Bernie) of Spencer, IA, Kent (Diane) of Jamestown, ND, Jeannine (Dennis) Owen of Mankato, MN, Dan of Alexandria, MN, Brad (Melody) of Alexandria, MN, Phil (Marcia) of Farwell, MN; brother, Don Ludwig of Emmetsburg, IA; twenty grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur of 57 years; her parents, and 9 siblings.

Our sweet mother will be forever missed. Her beautiful blue eyes and warmest smile will remain in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019, 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019, 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
