Edward preceded her in death on May 14, 1961. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter Pearl Rhode; 2 great grandchildren, and three brothers. Ella and her husband farmed this area for many years prior to their retirement. She was a member of St John Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid, past member of the Birthday Club and school board member for Green Valley School, a oneroom schoolhouse. Ella is survived by her children, Edward A. (Janice) Hinz of Reedsburg; Adeline Thomas of Madison; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Ella P. Hinz were conducted yesterday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Springs with Reverend Paul Schroeder officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill cemetery, North Freedom. Friends called Thursday at the Farber Funeral Home. The family request memorials of rememberance be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Springs in lieu of flowers. The Farber Funeral home has been assisting the family with the arrangements.

He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Pearl Rohde. Adeline was employed by General Casualty Insurance from 1960 until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Middleton. Adeline enjoyed reading, word puzzles, and cross-stitching, but most of all, cherished the time spent with her family and close friends. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Rick) Paris of Colgate; two sons, Richard (Bonnie) of Middleton and Stuart (Lynn) of Verona; five grandchildren, Rick (Mary Beth) Thomas, Karen (Eric) Kreuser, Kevin, Kelly and Lisa Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Emily and Zachary Thomas and Gannon Kreuser; her brother, Edward (Janice) Hinz of Reedsburg and other very special relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2003. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2003, at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Avenue. Mr. Bittrich will be taken to the church at 12 pm Saturday where friends may call until time of services. Memorials may be made to the church.

Death3 February 1959Julia Hannah Bertha Moldenhauer died on 3 February 1959 at age 78 The Beloit Daily News (WI) Tues, Feb 3, 1959 Mrs. Julia Bittrich, 78, of 1102 Church St, died at 8:55 a.m. today at her home. She had been confined to bed since suffering a fractured hip in April 1957. Mrs. Bittrich the former Julia Moldenhauer was born Oct. 20, 1880 in Hamburg Germany the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Moldenhauer. She came to the United States in 1888 and was married to Fred Bittrich on June 1, 1905 in Rock Springs, Wisconsin. Mr. and Mrs. Bittrich came to Beloit in 1909. Mr. Bittrich died in 1920. Mrs. Bittrich was a charter member of the Ladies Aid society of the Rock Springs Lutheran Church. She was a member to St. John's Lutheran Church in Beloit and an honorary member of the Church Ladies Aid Society. Survivors include two daughters Avis and Esther at home, and several nieces and nephews. Five sisters and brothers preceded her. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Schoenfeld Funeral Home, 1837 Park Ave. Rev. R. G. Friedrichs officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 to 9 Wednesday.

He was baptized on August 9, 1896 in the Lutheran faith and on April 3, 1910 he was confirmed with the class of that year by Rev. Popp. After attending the local schools he entered the Baraboo Business college. He enlisted in WWI and served 18 months. After his honorable discharge he was employed as a bank teller in Chicago where he became ill. His health however did not improve. He was taken to the US Veterans hospital at Downey, IL. After 10 years of illness he passed away suddenly on Aug 18, 1945, attaining the age of 49 years, 1 month, 10 days. He had farmed in Rock Springs from 1932-1942 and then moved to Baraboo where he was employed at the Badger Ordinance Plant and the Soiltest Corp up until his retirement in 1967. He was married to the former Viola Baumgarten on August 18, 1932 in Baraboo. He was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church and AARP. Survivors include his wife, Viloa of Baraboo; a son, Douglas of Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs Ella Hinz, Baraboo; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services were held Sat, June 12, at 11 am at St John’s Lutheran church with Pastor Emil Topel officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Hill Cemetery. Redlin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the St John’s Lutheran Church Building Fund.
