On July 31, 1948 he was united in marriage to Juanita Palmer in Reedsburg. Ray was employed at the Sauk County Health Care Center; Grede Foundry; and as a backhoe excavator for Shadde Plumbing.He was a charter member of St. Paul' s Lutheran Church in Baraboo;a member of the Baraboo Fire Department and Ambulance Crew; and a lifemember of Baraboo Elks Lodge No. 688. He also belonged to GreenwoodVFW Post 987, the American Legion, and 40 and 8. Ray had served as Commanderof another VFW Post. He is survived by his sister, Ardell (Rex) Albers;a brother-in-law, Robert Hyzer; a sister-in-law, Helen Palmer; all ofReedsburg; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. In additionto his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; twobrothers, Edgar 'Eggs' and Lester 'Slug' Krey; and his sister,Clara Bryant. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec.16, 2008, at St. Paul' s Lutheran Church in Baraboo with PastorsDeb and Steve Ohrtman officiating. Burial will follow in St. John' s Cemetery in Reedsburg where military rites will be conducted. Visitationwill be held on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the REDLIN FUNERAL HOME, 401 Madison Ave. in Baraboo; and at the churchon Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Death13 November 2008Lester L. Krey died on 13 November 2008 at age 88 Lester L. "Slug" Krey, age 88, of Reedsburg, died on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at the Sauk County Health Care Center. He was born on July 10, 1920,in Abelman, the son of Edward and Ella (Kopf) Krey. Lester was a 1940 graduate of Reedsburg High School. He worked at the Reedsburg Woolen Mill for a couple of years until he was drafted into the U.S. Army on Oct. 14, 1942. Lester did his basic training at Camp White, Ore. He was then maneuvered to Camp Adair, Ore. and lastly maneuvered to Fort Louis, Wash. He was then ordered to report to Hampton Roads, Va. Lester then sailed to Ranger Beach, Africa. He then pulled out and sailed to Sicily and fought into Italy until reaching the Yugoslavian border. After the European Theatre, he returned to Fort McCoy. Lester was proud to have received two Bronze Stars and a Commendation Medal. On Oct. 14, 1947, the National Guard was reorganized in Reedsburg. Lester was first sergeant for the Reedsburg Unit until 1950. He was then transferred to Camp Douglas where he worked in the Organizational Maintenance Shop until his retirement on Jan. 1, 1980, following 36 years of service. He was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, a 32-year member of the Reedsburg Fire Department, a member of the Reedsburg Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Survivors include his brother, Raymond Krey of Reedsburg; his sister, Ardell (Rex) Albers of Reedsburg; nieces and nephews; and cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Edgar "Eggs" Krey; his sister, Clara Bryant; and two nephews, Dean Crane and Adrian Crane. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at ST. JOHN EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH in Reedsburg with Pastor David Glesne and Pastor Marsha Swenson officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery with military rites provided by the Reedsburg V.F.W. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME in Reedsburg. He was born on September 20, 1930 in rural Loganville, the son of Henry and Leonora (Wollschlager) Albers. Rex was a 1948 graduate of Reedsburg High School. He also attended Madison Business College. Rex was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army. After his discharge from the military, he worked at Nichols Drug Store. In 1955, Rex started working as a teller at the Farmers & Merchants Bank. In 1968 he was transferred to the Loganville branch where he became branch manager and vice president, a position he held until his retirement in 1995. Following retirement, Rex worked at Reedsburg Floral and Hoof Funeral Home. He was united in marriage to the former Ardell E. Krey on June 29, 1968. Rex was a past president of the Sauk County Bankers Association, served on the Board of Directors for the Reedsburg Chamber of Commerce, was a member and past commander of the Reedsburg American Legion Post 350, served as secretary-treasurer for the Reedsburg Memorial Hospital Board for nine years during which time the new hospital was built on N. Dewey Avenue, he helped organize the Reedsburg Optimist Club where he served as treasurer and was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church where he served as secretary on the church council, the Educational Student Loan Committee and was both an usher and greeter. Survivors include his wife, Ardell; one sister: Shirley Albers, of Reedsburg; one nephew: Steven Albers, of Loganville; one niece: Sue (Dan) Lehman, of Reedsburg; Ardell's nieces and nephews: Gilbert Crane, Bliss "Butch" (Maureen) Crane, Patsy (Dennis) Reetz, Audrey (Richard) Knopp, Barbara (David) Lovett and Darlene Crane; his extended family at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother: Ruben (LeOra) Albers; and two nephews: Dean Crane and Adrian Crane. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor David Glesne and Pastor Dan Odden officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery where military rites will be provided by the Reedsburg American Legion. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. She then became a resident of Reedsburg the remaining years of her life. In her later years she was a resident of the Maple Ridge Elderly Care home. She was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for 20 years. Survivors include a brother, Harold Gall, of Madison; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Stambaugh, of Reedsburg; a niece, Rogene Gall, of Elm Grove; four nephews, Dr. Randall (Pat) Gall, of La Crosse, Attorney Steven (Marla) Gall, of Hot Sulphur Springs, Colo., and Robert and Richard Leschensky, both of Oconomowoc; a grand nephew and niece, Alexander and Elizabeth Gall; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, on March 13, 1971; her mother on January 21, 1977, and her father on April 17, 1987. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Leschensky, on 26 December 1947 Miss Mildred Krey and Immanuel Leschensky were united in marriage at St. John’s Lutheran church here at 12 o’clock noon on Friday, Dec. 26, midst a setting of poinsetta plants and Christmas trees.

The marriage ceremony was performed by the groom’s father, the Rev. H. F. Leschensky of this city, and his brother, the Rev. Eugene Leschensky of Cedarburg.

Mrs. Scheide of Lodi sang “Because” and “The Lord’s Prayer” at the ceremony. The Lohengrin and Mendellsohn wedding marches were played by Edwin Roever on the organ.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Krey of Reedsburg. She wore a wedding gown of Japanese silk, made with a fitted bodice, which was worn by her mother at her wedding. With this, she wore a floor length veil and carried a bouquet of white mums, calla lilies and ferns.

Mrs. Fred Stambough was her sister’s matron of honor and wore a formal gown of gold colored silk, with matching mitts and plume headdress. Lucille Brown was bridesmaid, and wore chartreuse fashioned in floor length style, with which she wore a matching plume headdress and white mitts. The bride’s attendants carried bouquets of white mums and pink rosebuds.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Armin, as best man, and Burdette Lindeman, while Melvin Krey and Fred Stambough were the ushers

Mrs. Krey wore a teal blue dress to her daughter’s wedding, while the groom’s mother wore navy blue. Both wore corsages of yellow and white pompoms and pink rosebuds.

A reception for 55 guests was held in the church parlors following the ceremony. Fo;;owing a wedding trip to Chicago, the newlyweds are now at home to friends in Lodi.

Mr. Leschsnsky formerly resided at Loyal, where he graduated from high school in 1935.
