He was a 50-year member of the plasters and cement masons union, having held a certificate of apprenticeship since 1954. He was formerly employed by Stanley Anderson, Bruce Anderson, Floyd Behling and Wellnitz Builders. As a young adult, Roland played hockey for the Janesville Bluebirds team. He continued his passion for the sport throughout his life. Roland is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elfride Swisher; a son, John (Cheryel) Swisher of Johnson Creek, WI; 3 daughters: Lillian Rudolph (Jeff) of Beloit, WI, Rose Marie (Dennis) Gosda of New Lisbon, WI, and Jacqueline (Warren) Johnson of Janesville; 8 grandchildren: Angel, Jason, Jennifer, John, Crystal, Marie, Madalyn, and Sadie; 5 great-grandchildren: Shaylynn, Stevie, Austin, Amy, and John; a sister, Dorothy (Jim) Schoephoerster; and 2 brothers, Duane (Betty) Swisher and Don (Geraldine) Swisher. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Bernita; son-in-law, Pat Rudolph; 2 grandsons, Keith and John; and a brother. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 2200 Milton Ave., Janesville, with Rev. Judi Huseth of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. A visitation will be held at the MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL from 12 noon until the time of services on Friday. Following cremation, burial will be in Milton Lawns. Assisting with arrangements is HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, Janesville.

Donald had been a Janesville resident most of his life and had been employed by JATCO (Allied) for 29 years, retiring in 1986. He married Geraldine M. Lindsay Dickson on April 16, 1983, at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Donald was a member of First Lutheran Church, UAW Local 95, and life member of the VFW Post 1621. He liked woodworking, bowling, snowmobiling, deer hunting, getting away to the cabin in Adams Friendship, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; 2 children, Don K. James enjoyed watching baseball and had a real love for his church. For the past 6 years, he resided at the Heartwarming House in Milton.
Survivors include 2 sisters, Betty Swisher, Shirley (August) Butler as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, on March 6, 2007. His parents and 1 sister, Carol Butts also preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23,2013 at Milton Lawns Memorial Park Chapel, 2200 Milton Avenue, Janesville. Pastor Dee Ann Woods will officiate. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

Duane served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and married Betty Schoephoerster on Oct. 20, 1956, in Whitewater, WI. He had been a Janesville resident most all of his life. He was employed by Gilman Engineeering and was a member of Midwest Christian Church. Duane is survived by his wife, Betty Swisher of Janesville; 1 son, Duane Swisher, Jr. of Janesville; 3 daughters: Diane (John) Olson, Dorothi Ann (James) Mead both of Janesville and Judy (Lief Moore) Swisher of Orfordville; 4 grandchildren: Betsy (Matt Lindley, Sr.) Swisher of Beloit, Julie Mead, Geoffrey and Benjamin Olson all at home; 3 great grandchildren: Matthew Jr., Dominick and Kindalynn Lindley; 1 sister, Dorothy (James) Schoephoerster of Janesville; many nieces, nephews and other extended family. Ruth was born on April 24, 1933, in Alma Center, WI, the youngest and only surviving of four children of George and Emma Winscher Galster. She moved to the Janesville area in 1950 and was a resident here the rest of her life. Ruth married Wallace L. Habeck in 1951. He died in October of 1974. She married Don K. Swisher on April 10, 1976. Ruth was formerly employed by JCPenney, Van Galder Bus Service, and Jacobson Bus Service. She especially enjoyed the time she spent driving bus for special education children. Ruth was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and Women of the Moose Chapter #477, holding an Academy of Friendship Degree from them. She enjoyed doing ceramics and other crafts.
Survivors include her husband, Don K. Swisher; children: Larry (Gala) Habeck of Riverview, FL, David (Juanita) Habeck of Janesville, Kandy (Jeffrey) Kirkpatrick of Janesville, and Scott (Linda) Habeck of Stephenson, MI; a daughter-in-law, Bernadette Habeck of Argyle, WI; grandchildren: Jennifer (Jason) Green of Valrico, FL, Andrew (Kim) Habeck of Brandon, FL, Rhonda Habeck (Jason Rowin) of Monona, WI, Michelle (Matthew) Boardman of Janesville, Jeffrey Wallace Jr. of Argyle, WI, Craig Dull of Milwaukee, Keith Dull, serving in Iraq, Holly Kirkpatrick of Janesville, Jennifer Schroeder of Marinette, WI, Jana (James) Knapp and Jacob Habeck (Julia Smith), both of Menominee, MI; great-grandchildren: Adelaide and Kincaide Green, both of Valrico, FL, Amanda Unterfer (Habeck) and Ian Habeck, both of Brandon, FL, Dyllan Witt (Boardman) and Karter Boardman, both of Janesville, KayLee Habeck (Schroeder), Reilly Winters (Schroeder), Karra Winters (Schroeder), and Alana Schroeder, all of Marinette, WI, and Karissa Knapp of Menominee, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Wallace L. Habeck; two children, Gary Lee Habeck and Jeffrey Wallace Habeck Sr; a grandson, Daniel Wallace Habeck; as well as her siblings: Everett, Marian, and Wendell.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville, with Rev. Guy Vogel officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a Women of the Moose service at 6:30 p.m., at the Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Scott Prechel) Poteat of Evansville; her son, Dale Poteat of Janesville/Chicago, IL; 2 grandchildren, Brittany Forrett and Dakota St. Clair; her father, Donald (Gerri) Swisher of Janesville; a brother, Donald (Ruth) Swisher of Janesville; a sister, Debbie (Larry) Engelbert of Tennessee; 4 stepgrandchildren: Carly, Caleb, Chloe White and Kristine Peich; special friends: Ken Currier, Marlene and Miranda Klipstein; and many other friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Peich, on March 20, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her mother; and infant brother, Dennis Swisher; and her beloved dog, Tinker. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, Janesville, with Rev. Paul Speerbrecker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.
