Private family burial services will be prior to the memorial service. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Wass Funeral Home in Alcester.
Mr. Groon was born Oct. 11, 1916, near Akron, Iowa, the son of J. Henry and Sophia (Fickbohm) Groon. He attended rural school.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1945 to 1946, where he worked on B-51, B-52 and AT-6 aircrafts.
He married Ardes Ekle on Aug. 23, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nev. In 1947, the couple moved to the Norway Center, S.D., area and farmed until 1971. She died Oct. 29, 1967. He married Velma Fickbohm on Feb. 14, 1971, in Alcester. The couple made their home in Alcester, where he was employed at various jobs including driving a school bus.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he was an elder and a youth counselor.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Marlene and her husband, Jim Fedderson, of Marshall, Minn., Carol Vojtisek of Wahpeton, N.D., and Joyce (Fickbohm) and her husband, Cal Hubregtse, of Lennox, S.D; five sons, David Groon of Sioux Falls, S.D., Steve Groon and his wife, Deb, of Volga, S.D., Robert Fickbohm and his wife, Barb, of Fremont, Neb., Delmar "Fudd" Fickbohm of Rapid City, S.D., and Douglas Fickbohm and his wife, Ann, of Yankton, S.D; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Emil and Irene of Arlington, S.D., and Gerald and Marcella of Chapel Hill, N.C; and four sisters, Bernice Johnson of Vermillion, S.D., Alvera and her husband, Richard Rosgaard, of Rock Valley, Iowa, and Melvina Aashei and Elaine and her husband, Albert Olson, all of Canton, S.D.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Klostergaard.
Pallbearers will be Ken Carlson, Art Peterson, Oscar Larson, Charles Hall, Bob Kroell, Morris Sommervold and Elmer and Walt Haltkamp.1

farmed near Spink until retiring in 1962. The couple moved into Alcester in 1986. Mrs. Satter died March 19, 1987. He entered Morningside Manor Aug. 29, 1991. Mr. Satter was a lifelong member of Brule Creek Lutheran church and
held various church offices. He was a member of World War I Barracks in Elk Point. Survivors include two sons, Eldon of Hawthorne, Calif., and Archie of Sioux Falls; two daughter, Mrs.
Clarence (Leone) Albin of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Mrs. William (Ardis) Leyman of Long Beach, Calif; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren;
three sisters, Betty Satter and Agnes Sawyer, both of Boise, Idaho, and Grace Pylman of
Sioux Falls. He was also preceded in death by
a son, Luverne; two brothers; three sisters; and a half-sister.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Wayne of Glasgow, Mont., and William Jr. of Akron; six sisters, Mrs. Perrie (Ellen) De Groote, Corwith, Mrs. Leland (Ida) Wilson, Cedar Rapids, Miss Ann Satter, Rochester, N.Y., Miss Elizabeth Satter and Mrs. Agnes Sawyer, both of Boise, Idaho, and Mrs. Grace Pylman, Sioux Falls; a brother, Lewis, Elk Point, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Death1 June 2006Lillian T. Kasparie died on 1 June 2006 at age 98 Lillian Breitzke, age 98, died Thursday, June 1, 2006. She was born in Bloomington, Ill., on Nov. 26, 1907. She married Alvin Breitzke on June 18, 1927. They made their home in Madison until 1963 at which time they moved to Mesa, Ariz. She enjoyed giving much of her support and time to animal welfare groups and to many activities at her church. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Delores (Dawayne) Tietz; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Allene; and 12 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at MELCHER MORTUARY MISSION CHAPEL, 6625 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ. Services will follow from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Burial will be at Mtn View Memorial Gardens in Mesa, Ariz. The family would like to thank Desert Springs Escondido and Cornerstone Hospice for their loving care.

Kasparie of Quincy; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister; and nine brothers. She was a secretary at Royal Press in Chicago. She attended the Lutheran Church in Mendon. She enjoyed ceramics and crocheting. Burial was in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights July 10. Memorials in the name of Etta Lange have been established.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Mendon, Ill. He worked as a butcher at Kasparie Market, Eighth Street and Payson Avenue, Quincy, Ill., and at Mendon Locker, Mendon, Ill.. He also worked for M I Baker and Son Builders of Quincy for 27 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater in public relations. He is survived by one daughter, Karen (William) Spencer, Goshen; two grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters; a sister, Lillian Brieitzke, Mesa, Ariz; He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; nine brothers, Carl Kasparie, August Kasparie, Bert Kasparie, Milton Kasparie, Virgil Kasparie, Leroy Kasparie, Dr. Lester Kasparie, Ernest Kasparie, Willard Kasparie; two sisters, Lorain Baum and Etta Lange. Friends and family may visit at Salem Lutheran Church, Mendon, Ill. Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Hesseldenz officiating. He will be buried at Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Ill. in Adams county. Memorial contributions can be sent to Shriners Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., or Salem Lutheran Church, Mendon, Ill. Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

She was born September 13, 1916 in Bloomfield, Adams County, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Ethel Boelman Kasparie. On September 19, 1944, she married William George Siebers in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1999. Mrs. Siebers and her husband moved to Bakersfield, California in 1944 where they worked and resided until 1976 when they moved back to Quincy and retired. Mr. and Mrs. Siebers both worked during WWII for the Long Beach Naval Facility. Mr. Siebers then worked for approximately 25 years for the Santa Fe Railroad. Mrs. Siebers, in addition to being a home maker and raising her two daughters, worked at Tenneco Company for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Siebers were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Quincy and St. Francis Catholic Church in Bakersfield, CA. Survivors include two daughters, Diane Riley of Quincy and Darlene Coddington Morisoli and husband Randy of Cobb, CA; four grandchildren: Crystal O'Neil, Cobb, CA; Warren J. Riley and Kellie of Quincy; Charles Riley and wife Amanda of Smyrna, TN; Shawn Coddington of San Diego, CA; 2 great grandchildren: Carson Riley of Symrna, TN and Chevy Riley of Quincy; and a sister, Mrs. Wilma Whitley of Bloomfield, IL. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Jerry and Bud Kasparie. Graveside Services: Monday October 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Greenmount Cemetery with Rev. Michael Kuse officiating. Visitation: there will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church.

Later she worked with her son in his business from 1975 until her health failed her. A long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, she was devoted in her faith to Christ.
She is survived by her sons, Carl(Jan) Rolfsmeyer, and John (Nancy) Rolfsmeyer, both of Madison; grandchildren, Mark Rolfsmeyer of Madison, Janet (Charles) Hutchens of Middleton, Matthew (Jane) Rolfsmeyer of Oregon, Kristi Wells of Zion, Illinois, Ken Rolfsmeyer of Madison, and Bob Rolfsmeyer of Madison; great-grandchild, Marlee
Rolfsmeyer; and brothers and sisters, Bruno (Virginia) Steinweg of Buchanan, Michigan, Ruth Droes of Reedsburg, Henry (Margie) Steinweg of Los Angeles, California, Conrad Steinweg of Reedsburg, Dorothea (Ray) Peper of Waterford, Wisconsin, Carl Steinweg and Louise Lange, both of Reedsburg. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Rolfsmeyer; her parents; brothers, Ernest Steinweg, and Albert Steinweg; and sister, Lydia Capener.
Funeral services will be held at Lake City Church, 4909 East Buckeye Road, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 1998, with the Reverend Bernard Norland and the Reverend Warren Heckman presiding. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, is serving the family.
Alma was a kind, loving mother and grandmother.

The former Ruth Ida Emma Steinweg was born on November 27, 1912 in Reedsburg, the third child of Albert and Lydia (Meyer) Steinweg. She was a 1931 graduate of Reedsburg High School. On September 3, 1932, she was united in marriage to Willie Krueger. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1963. She later married Lorenz A. Droes on January 10, 1970. He died on January 31, 1975 as a result of a fall. Ruth was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for over 25 years. She was an honorary member and former treasurer of St. Peter's Ladies Aid and was a long time member of St. Peter's Study Group. She worked as an NCR bookkeeper for Reed Gas for over 12 years until her retirement. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth (Ron) Bayer of LaCrosse and Helen (Don) Thom of Hazelhurst; her daughter-in-law Betty Krueger of San Antonio, Texas; two step-sons, Larry Droes Jr. and Eugene Droes; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorthea (Raymond) Peper of Waterford and Louise Lange of Reedsburg; three brothers, Henry (Margie) Steinwee of Los Angeles, Conrad Steinweg ol Reedsburg and Carl Steinweg of Reedsburg; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Walter Krueger on March 2, 1996; her parents; two sisters, Lydia Capener and Alma Rolfmeyer and three brothers, Ernst, Albert and Bruno Steinweg. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 1999 at ST. PETER'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH in Reedsburg with Reverend James Hendrikson officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 1999 at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME in Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter's Radio Broadcast Fund would be appreciated.
