Pat loved to attend Don's shows when he played in the band. She worked for the University Hospital, IBM and retired from Ohmeda. Pat was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the Madison Jazz Society. She enjoyed attending the Madison Symphony, the Fireside and musicals with her friend and companion, Ray Van Kylen. Pat is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Brassington; grandson, Mark Brassington; granddaughter, Jennifer Brassington; seven great- grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Thomas and Mary Ward; and many loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; son, Steven; three sisters; and one brother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at CHRIST THE KING CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5306 Main Street, McFarland, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, with Father D. Steven Smith presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.

Ann was born on February 10, 1932, to William and Veronica (Mears) Walsh. On October 19, 1957, she was united in marriage to Tom Greenheck at St. Patrick’s, Loreto, WI; they were married for 42 years. Tom and Ann had one daughter, JoAnn. Ann was a member of Holy Angels –Loreto Catholic Church.

Ann grew up on the family farm which is now White Mound County Park on County Hwy GG, Loreto. She attended Loreto grade school and graduated from Spring Green High School in 1950. Ann and Tom were dairy farmers on the Greenheck farm in Bear Valley. Ann was the Treasurer of the Township of Ithaca for over 50 years. She worked for Wisconsin Power and Light in Madison right after High School. After farming with her husband, Ann worked at Leyda Ford and later as a greeter at Walmart in Richland Center, Wisconsin. On March 16, 2016, she was honored to be crowned St. Patrick’s Irish Queen at their 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Ann is survived by her daughter, JoAnn (Dan) Feeney, her nieces and nephews, Jim (Linda) Thering, Rosemary (Scott) Pope, Jerry (Diane) Thering, Rob (Sue) Thering, Susan Turner Thering (Ray Dischler), John (B’lynn) Weitzel, Mark Weitzel and Georgia Weitzel. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Dick (Jean) Greenheck, Steve (Luanne) Greenheck; sister-in-law, Janice Donatell and special friend Sheila McCluskey Drea. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, her parents and siblings; brother, Lawrence Walsh, sisters, Mary (Joe) Thering, Lorraine (George) Weitzel, Eileen Walsh, nephew Joseph W. Thering and great-niece, Kayla Thering, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph J. Thering, George Weitzel, Leo and Ruth Halverson, Gene Greenheck, Jim and Shirley Greenheck and Hank Donatell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Loreto, S8280 County Highway G, on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Fr. Sanctus K. Ibe will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.

She later worked for a doctor while living in Sioux City, Iowa. She moved to Lincoln and worked at Western Electric. She married Rudie Rezek on May 17, 1948. They moved to Wahoo. She worked at Campbell Soup Co. in Fremont for five years. She then helped to set up and run the kitchen at Haven House when it first opened. Later, she became the cafeteria manager at Bishop Neumann High School. She worked there for 17 1/2 years. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, St. Ludmilla?s Guild, Altar Rosary Society and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 4502. Survivors include: two sons, Bob (and wife, Mitzi) Ward of Phoenix and Don (and wife, Sandy) Ward of Crete; a daughter, Pam (and husband, Lyle) Knox of Omaha; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, infant twins and six brothers. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo with the Rev. Charles Townsend officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8:30 p.m. Friday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo. An Altar Rosary Society rosary will be said at 5 p.m. Friday with a parish rosary at 7:30 p.m., both at the funeral home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Memorials have been established to St. Wenceslaus Church and VFW Auxiliary Post 4502.

Sigri Johnson Lund, daughter of John and Gjertru Lund, was born in Stordahl, Norway, June 10, 1854. She came to Goodhue county, Minn., with her parents in 1865, at the age of 11 years. Three years later they came to Union county, S. D. She was a member of Rev. Nessa's first confirmation class in the St. Paul congregation. On March 26, 1877, she was united in marriage with Anders O. Solem. In the fall of the same year they bought the present home, where they have resided ever since, with the exception of nine years in Elk Point. She is survived by her husband and four children, Daniel Solem of Little Fork, Minn; Emelic (Mrs. Otto Sorsdahl) of Midale, Sask., Canada; George Solem, of Chicago; Agnes (Mrs. Gust. Abraham), at home, to mourn the loss of this loving wife and mother, besides nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Solem was a charter member of the St. Paul Ladies' Aid, where she was an active member for forty years. She will be greatly missed and mourned in that community.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, last week at the home and in the St. Paul Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. W. I. Aamoth. Interment was in the St. Paul cemetery.

Agnes Solem was born March 5, 1894, in Union County. She attended South Spink School north of Elk Point and Augustana Academy, Canton. She married Gust Abraham on Feb. 24, 1927, in rural Elk Point. They farmed until 1950 when Mr. Abraham retired. They moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1959. Mr. Abraham died in 1967. Mrs. Abraham moved back to Elk Point in 1976. She was a member of Brule Creek Lutheran Church in rural Elk Point. Survivors include one son, Gerald, Los Vegas, Nev. Services will begin at 10am Thursday in Brule Creek Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at 8am to 10pm today with the family present from 7 to 8 pm at Anderson Funeral Home in Elk Point.

Gerhart Groon retired from the farm in Sioux Valley township, Union County, SD. Mrs. Groon was born July 4, 1882 in Union county, SD and her marriage took plance July 4, 1900 at Elk Point, SD. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Hannah Abraham of Sioux City, a son Clifford, Akron, 12 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Hannah Seely of Akron. The Rev. David Roy will conduct the funeral and burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Lewison funeral home. The casket will be open at the church from one o'clock until service time.1

Prominent Spink Couple Married Last Saturday - Pretty Church Ceremony Unites Miss Lu Ida Klemme and Mr. Olaf Abrahamson - Nuptial promises were exchanged by Lu Ida Klemme daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Klemme, and Olaf Abrahamson, son of Mrs. Ole Abrahamson, Dec. 19th, at 6:00 o'clock in the Brule Creek Lutheran church, Rev. D. L. Jacobson performing the ceremony. The church was decorated in the bride's colors, white and blue. Marjorie Klemme, sister of the bride, Nona Mae Abrahamson, niece of the groom, and Norma Jean Abrahamson, cousin of the groom, attended the bride. The groom was attended by Philip Abrahamson, Luverne Klemme, and Carter Twedt. The wedding party entered to strains of Lohengrin's Wedding March. Nona Mae Abrahamson entered, carrying a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums tied with a pink bow. Her dress was a floor length blue satin and chiffon. Marjorie Klemme followed carrying a bouquet of white chrysanthemums tied with a pink bow. Her dress was a floor length blue chiffon and taffeta. The bridesmaids were met at the front of the church by Luvern Klemme and Philip Abrahamson. Norma Jean Abrahamson, flower girl, preceding the bride, strewed flower petals on the white carpeted aisle. She was met by Carter Twedt, ringbearer, and they took their place before the maid of honor. Norma Jean's dress was a floor length white cotton Swiss, trimmed with pink rosebuds. The bride entered carrying a bouquet of pink roses tied with a blue bow. She was attired in a floor-length gown of ivory pan satin and wore a full-length veil. She was met by the groom and they proceeded to the altar. The song, "I Love You Truly," was sung by Mrs. L. S. Twedt. The marriage vows were exchanged in a single ring ceremony, after which Mrs. Twedt sang "Because." The wedding party left the altar with the playing of "A Midsummer's Night Dream." The reception was held at the bride's home, immediately following the ceremony.
