The former Anastasia Brey was born on Sept. 9, 1914, to Arthur and Anastasia (Brickl) Brey in Plain where she attended St. Luke's Parochial School. On May 12, 1941, she graduated from the Toebe Academy of Beauty Culture, and from 1947 until the time of her marriage she owned and operated the Harper Method Beauty Salon in Madison. Anastasia married Clarence Womack on June 4, 1952, at St. Raphael Parsonage and she joined Clarence in Highland in the operation of their farm. She was a member of Ss. Anthony and Philip Parish and the C.C.W. Anastasia is survived by her husband, Clarence of Highland; a son, Bruce (Linda) Womack of Highland; a daughter, Mary (Glen) Spurgeon of Highland; seven grandchildren, Dionne Womack and special friend Jody Marti, Denise (Kevin) Rochon, Dana and Darci Womack, James Spurgeon, Kai Tanner and Gavin Womack; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Zach Rochon; a brother, John Brey of Reedsburg; a sister, Marian Riek of Sauk City; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence (Marge) Womack of Linden, and David Womack of Rockford, Ill; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wilkinson of Linden, and Lois (Loren) Yearous of Madison; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brett Womack; a brother, Herman Brey; two brothers-in-law, Julius Riek and Ray Wilkinson; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Brey and Mildred Brey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007, at ST. PHILIP'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Highland with Father Kenneth J. Frisch officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at the church, where a parish rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call on Thursday after 10 a.m. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the East Side Cemetery, Dodgeville. He enjoyed working the land and loved his farm, the time he spent fishing and at the tree farm in Wautoma. He was also employed for 26 years at Seats Inc. in Reedsburg and never missed a day at work. He enjoyed playing Sheepshead and Euchre. He enjoyed the time he volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul and RAMC. He loved his church and was active as a Eucharistic Minister, Usher and Money Counter. He was an avid Beaver, Badger, Brewer and Packer Fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred on December 30, 1994, his parents, Father and Mother-in-law, Albert and Adelia Bindl, brother, Herman; sister, Anastasia, brothers and sister-in-law, Clarence Womack, Julius Riek, and Lucille Brey, niece, Lois Bindl

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home with Knights of Columbus rosary being prayed at 8:00 P.M.. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Reedsburg. Memorials of remembrance may be made to Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund or to Sacred Heart Church.

Bertilla was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church, the Catholic Knights and cooked at St. Luke's Catholic School for 37 years. Survivors include five children, Rita (George) Brey of Plain, Bill (Gerri) Bergman of Plain, Mark (Marian) Bergman of Reedsburg, Marie (Ron) Loether of Sauk City, and Paul (Sharon) Bergman of Pinedale, Ariz; 26 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a sister, Thecla Moseman of Sauk City; and a sister-in-law, Mary Hetzel of Plain; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bergman in 1945; two sons, Rudolph in 1962; and Robert in 1994; two grandchildren, Timothy Brey and Kathleen Thomas Brey; four brothers, Albert, Alois, Mark and John Hetzel; and four sisters, Anna Lins, Christina Hetzel, Rose Lins and Agatha Hetzel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at 11 a.m. at ST. LUKE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Plain. Father Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at the church from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home, Spring Green, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

She was born in Franklin Township on Sept. 13, 1917, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Schwartz) Hetzel. Thecla married George Moseman on March 8, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1995. Together, they farmed in the Black Hawk area for many years. Besides being an avid sports fan, her passion was baking, cooking and enjoying the company of her family and friends. Thecla was a generous, loving person, who was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all who her knew her. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish, Sauk City.

She is survived by two daughters, Lynet (Tom) Frey and their children, Nathan Frey and Jill (Brent) Dederich; and Diane (Dan) Zeman and their children, Travis and Tyler Zeman; a daughter-in-law, Ary Moseman and her children, Ryan and Ariel Moseman; a grandson, Wade (Casey) Moseman; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Parker, Blake, and Kaylin; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Morris "Morey" and Phil; a daughter, Carol Moseman; and four brothers and five sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, with Father John Blewett officiating. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. A visitation will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday.
