He was the husband of Helen Rita (Boehm) Baumbach with whom he would have celebrated his 71st wedding anniversary June 14th of this year. Helen and Bob have lived in Redding over 55 years.

He was born, November 22, 1924 in Reedsburg, WI, son of the late August A. and Emma L. (Friede) Baumbach. He served as a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps in the 31st Bomb Squadron, 5th Bomb Group (H) 13th Air Force during WWII. He flew dozens of combat missions as a B-24 pilot in the Pacific Theatre.

In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by his cherished family: his children Bill (Gail) of Hopewell, NJ, Susan (Tom) of Waterford, CT, Amy (Russ Bailas) of Easton, CT, Mitzi (Marian) (Scott) of Chatham, MA, John of Pittsfield, MA, and 13 wonderful grandchildren and three great grandchildren, with another one the way.

Bob graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1947 with a bachelor's degree in economics. After moving from Madison, WI, he was the co-owner and operator of the family business, the RA Boehm Co of Bethel, CT from 1959-1978 when he retired. He was a lifelong supporter and member of the Redding Country Club where he enjoyed many rounds of golf and bridge with his friends, and social activities with Helen.

"Ken" - TOWN OF BURKE - Known as a great guy; a man of few words; who was blessed with many friends and a loving family, Ken Friede passed through the gates of heaven on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, after a brief illness. He is in the company of his parents, Reinhold and Frieda Friede; his wife, Dorothy; sons, Jim and Paul; brothers, Bob and Richard Friede; and his beloved German shepherds. Ken retired from Madison Crushing and was a member of 139 Operating Engineers for 45 years. He was an avid fisherman and card player. Ken is survived by his children, Deborah (Terry) Wilcox, Eugene (Philana) Friede, Connie Friede, Kenneth "Skip" Friede Jr., Mark Friede (Sheri), Kelly Friede (Ed), and Kimberly (Jamie) Tjugum; sister, Beverly Ninedorf; brother, Jerry Friede; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 2 p.m, on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008. Survivors include two sons, Leonard of Port Washington,Wis., and Gary of Eau Claire: a daughter, Karol Ann (Larry) Scoles of Brooklyn Center, Minn; two grandchildren, Kristina and Jeffrey Scoles; two brothers, Eldon (Donna) of Blair. and William (Iris) of Vadnais Heights, Minn.: and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma and a grandson, Tim. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Epiphany Lutheran Church;
with Pastor Brent L. Parrish officiating.

Eldon was born on March 25, 1926 in Hillsboro, WI to Henry and Hulda (Meyer) Friede. He lived his maturing years in Eau Claire and was educated in the Eau Claire school system.

Eldon entered the World War II conflict, enlisting in the United States Navy atthe age of 17. He was transferred to the United States Marine Corps and was trained by C-Med. Eldon served in the Pacific Theater with the 1st Marine Division as a medical corpsman and was part of the invasion of Okinawa. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Eau Claire, entered college and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. Eldon became a registered pharmacist, working in Stevens Point, LaCrosse and Whitehall prior to purchasing and operating Friede Pharmacy in Blair, retiring in 1993.

Eldon married Donna Mae Toraason on August 28, 1948 in the Zion Lutheran Church in Blair. They raised two sons, Steven and Douglas. Al belonged to and enjoyed working with many organizations. He was a member of the American Legion, Lions Club, Commercial Club, FFA Alumni and Ridgerunners Snowmobile Club. Eldon was also a Cub Scout Master, worked at Blair Cheese Festival events and taught Sunday School.

At the top of his activities list was sports. He played softball and tennis into his 50’s, golfed and loved snowmobiling. The sports he didn’t play, he enjoyed watching, especially the Packers, Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers.

Eldon is survived by his wife of 69 years, Donna; two sons, Steve (Sharon) and Doug; a half-brother, William (Iris); two sisters-in-law, Carol Toraason and Lorraine Toraason; three nieces, Leatrice Guenther, Diane Toraason and Linda Bragg; three nephews, Ron, Terry and Mark Toraason.

In addition to his parents, Eldon was preceded in death by his step-mother, Mary; a brother, Orlen; two brothers-in-law, Lyman and Richard Toraason; two sisters-in-law, Lennice Thompson and Ruth Reeves; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair with Pastor David Hendrickson officiating. Burial with military rites will be held in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Blair at a later date.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Eldon L. Friede, Hospital Apprentice First Class, is now serving with a Marine medical battalion in the South Pacific, according to word received by his mother, Mrs. Hulda Friede, 1317 First Avenue.
Friede enlisted in the Navy in September 1943 and received his boot training at Farragut, ID and graduated from the Medical Corps School there.

Diana was born on April 1, 1934, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Robert E. and Frances (Bowdry) Flynt, but spent her childhood in Nocona, Texas. She attended Nocona Public Schools and was involved in numerous activities involving church, school, band and Campfire Girls. She excelled at sports and was captain of her high school basketball team, the Nocona Indians.
Diana loved the outdoors and could often be found swimming, fishing, hiking and exploring the beautiful countryside of Montague County. She graduated from Nocona High School in 1951, where she made lifelong friends whom she loved and met with each month for over 60 years. Following her graduation, Diana continued her education at North Texas Teachers’ College (now University of North Texas) and was involved in her sorority and the Green Jackets, as well as other campus activities.
Diana met her future husband, Bob W. Hrabovsky, through mutual friends when he visited Camp Letoli, where she was a Counselor in Training. Diana and Bob were married in 1955 and took off on their first of many adventures, driving to Alaska where Bob was stationed with the United States Air Force. They moved several times during his years in the service, spending time in the Philippines, as well various stateside Air Force bases. Diana chose to stay at home to raise her children during the formative years of their lives, becoming their Brownie and Girl Scout leader, as well as encouraging and supporting them in their dance and sports endeavors. After Bob retired from the USAF, Diana taught school at Jefferson Elementary, Kirby Jr. High and Barwise Jr. High, encouraging children with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.
Diana is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bob Hrabovsky; her two daughters, Diana Kathleen of Arlington, TX and Suzanne of Ennis, TX; a beloved brother, Jon Robert Flynt and wife, Carole; a nephew, Jon David Flynt and wife, Veronica; and a niece, Elizabeth Wentworth and husband, Mark and their children, Miles and Sydney.

He was born on February 5, 1926 in the Town of Washington, Sauk County, the son of Carl and Anna (Schlieckau) Stolte. On September 29, 1951 he was married to the former Sylvia C. Brunkow. Ervin was a lifelong farmer in the Town of Washington. He had served on the Town of Washington Board for many years. He also served as a member of the R.S. & L. Co-op Board of Directors. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. Ervin enjoyed reading in his spare time. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; three sons; Carl Stolte, of Reedsburg; Daniel (Shari) Stolte, of Loganville and Steven (Michelle) Stolte, of Reedsburg; twelve grandchildren; three great grand-children; one sister; Lyda (William) Schuette, of Reedsburg; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; and three sisters; Hilda Wiese, Martha Wiese and Esther Thieding. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2006 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran Church would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family. Taken from the Reedsburg Independent.
