Visitation will begin at 11 am Tuesday March 28, 2017 followed by services at 12 Noon at the Park Lawn Chapel. Burial with Military Honors in Green Lawn Cemetery. Al was born the youngest of three children of Louis Napoleon Rowland and Mary Rosaltha Goggin Rowland in Kansas City, Missouri. Al attended Horace Mann Elementary School and Graduated from Paseo High School in 1929. Upon graduation Al worked for the H.J. Heinz Company before owning and operating several full service gasoline stations for Skelly and Standard Oil in Kansas City. Al went into the U.S. Navy near the end of World War II and served out of the Long Beach California Naval Base there. It is there he first met his wife, Lola J. Carroll, of 71 Years. They were married and returned to Kansas City at the conclusion of the war. The first of their four children was born, William D. Rowland in 1946. The other three children, David Rowland, Cathy Andersen, and Gary Rowland were born during the decade of the 1950s and reside today in the Lee's Summit area. Al continued to operate service stations until he took a position with the Socony Mobil Oil Company in 1954 as a commissioned tank wagon sales agent for the Kansas City Missouri Region. It was from this position he retired in 1973. Al was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing his entire life. He also enjoyed taking cruises and spending time at his lake house with his family. Al was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Lewis and his Sister, Mary Amanda Owens. Al is survived by his adoring wife, Lola, of 71 years, and their four Children and Spouses; William and Leslie Rowland, David and Connie Rowland, Cathy and Steven Andersen, and Gary and Pamala Rowland, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. Al was a loving husband and father and a wonderful provider and will be greatly missed by his adoring Family.

George Washington Robnett (1890-1970), author and advertising executive, co-founded in 1937 the National Laymen's Council, Church League of America, in Chicago, Illinois. He served as executive secretary of the League and editor if its publication, News and Views, until his retirement in 1957. After retiring, Robnett concentrated his efforts on the Middle-East conflict and made three trips to the area. While there, he visited dignitaries such as Mrs. Karina El-Said Rabie (Under Secretary of State in Egypt) and her husband Dr. Abbas H. Rabie; archaeologists, among them Dr. W. F. Albright; and refugee camps. George Robnett returned to Pasadena, California with his wife, Florence, where he worked on his book, Conquest Through Immigration and other projects until suffering a cerebral hemorrhage in August, 1969. He died in January, 1970.
